He envisions those early man-machine marriages falling victim to the same cultural taboos affecting interracial marriages. However, just as those are accepted over time, so will committed robot-hookups be seen as "normal" as the practice becomes more common. please take note of your incorrent usage of Massachusetts lingo. 'Wicked' is used as a modifier, not standalone. i.e. It's wicked hot in here.

I don't think people should necessarily be that disgusted or non-believing of this potential. Would I use a "sex toy doll" now....no, thanks, but no.
HOWEVER, if you look to Battlestar Galactica as a possible reference point (yes, I'm a geek...you wanna take this outside?), if "robots" eventually are advanced enough that they undergo some form of biological/cybernetic evolution of their own, this might not seem that far fetched.
At a certain point, a robotic intelligence could become indistinguishable from a human intelligence, even to itself. Humans think they're intelligent without any other entity telling them as much, so once a robot can consider itself intelligent without being told that, they'll be fundamentally no different than humans....at least in intelligence.
