VoIP comes to MySpace through Skype partnership
Skype and MySpace -- that just sounds like a match made in heaven, no? If you're still scratching your head on how the two actually fit together, here's the low down: a new partnership between the pair will soon allow MySpace members to dial up other users by simply clicking a button in their profile. Of course, this is assuming you can actually find the aforementioned button in all of the site's clutter, but we digress. Starting in November, the service will reach users in some 20 countries around the globe, and while vanilla PC-to-PC calls will obviously be gratis, "premium options" such as personal phone numbers, voice mail, call forwarding and PC-to-landline / mobile calls will have an undisclosed pricetag attached. Welcome to a whole new realm of shock callin'.

This, in conjunction with the Microsoft push, is one of those key events in time.
Who needs to pick up the cell phone to chat when you can just clickety-click?
(anyone watch a teenybopper using MySpace? Clickety-click, pick up cell, call, chat for 2 seconds, hang up, clickety-click, pick up cell, chat for 3 seconds, hang up. Guess what's gonna be missing from that picture soon?)

Now it's only a matter of time before Chris Hansen releases "To Catch a Predator: MySpace VoIP Edition"
Can you imagine him playing recorded phone clips of conversations?

SKYPE is Not like before, now the have too many fees and prices are to high in relation with telephone companies
Calls are charged at a per minute rate, and calls are rounded up to the minute (for example, a two minute, 5 second call will be rounded up to three minutes + tax and connection fee and who knows what else fee) , so you are going to eat your money in 30 to 40 min if you make only 1 call (one connection), but if you make short calls it will eat the money faster (more connections)

I agree. Ever since Ebay acquired Skype, they've become a pain to deal with. There's a fee for absolutely everything. Plus, they have raised their prices by over 30-40 percent. I've recently bought one of the Phillips Skype/landline phone and thought I would get a number from skype. Well, I bought one a bit over a year ago for $38 for a year. Today is about $60. That's unbelievable. Ebay is trying to squeeze every drop out of people's wallets. As if PayPal, and their auctions, wasn't bringing them enough money. It's not the customers' fault they overpaid for Skype. Now they want to get even with us.

Just use Yahoo! Voice if you have an issue with Spypes high fees.

Hmm i wonder if this will be the beginning of a new era of SOCIAL NETWORKING. Kinda cool if ur able to leave a voicemail to someone on facebook or myspace. But with everyone having cellphones i guess ur always gonna b connected aslong as u have wifi. This will def be a new era in internet dating. Youll never have to give ur cell # out to anyone.
"Hey just call my website and leave me a message"
lol.
The end of civilization as we know it!

So if this is on top of the skype mobile phone I wonder how they would integrate the two together?

Sweet, now I can get my MySpace spam by phone!

Myspace is Abomination. We should kill it with fire. Better yet, use nuclear weapons form orbit. You just can't be too careful.
Seriously the whole thing is one giant, flashing, cluttered, banner ad-filled, spam-spreading, filthy crime against the internet. But at least it distracts many of the morons who would otherwise have gotten a Facebook...

I think the problem here is MySpace. They have grown tremendously over the last few years, but at the same time NEED to update their website to Web 2.0 standards...whatever those are. If you want to good example of a clean, stable, usable social network, check out Facebook. Everything is clearly laid out and there isn't 10000 links on top to direct you to a certain area AND they have proper search capabilities so you can find someone/something. Skype is just more bloat.

Oh goodie. It's been too damn long since I've chatted with a bunch of skanky 14 year olds about stuff that I couldn't care less about.
PS: Did I mention I dislike Myspace?
