@David: 480Mb/s is just the max USB 2.0 transfer rate. USB 2.0 transfer rate != memory read/write speed. Just because the bus can transfer at 480Mb/s doesn't mean the chips can keep up with it.
Lots of sites benchmark USB flash drives. Benchmarks would be pointless if all memory automatically kept up with USB transfer rates.
