This would finally tie everything together. I have a Vista Media Center PC, a Windows Home Server, and an Xbox but they don't all play nicely together. I need to record TV through the PC, store it on the WHS, then stream it back through Media Center on the PC to the Xbox.
I'm not holding my breath, but an Xbox with dual HD Tuners (they would have to be cable card tuners) the ability to save the recorded content to the WHS, and an HD DVD drive would be awesome. By making the Xbox a Media Center device rather than just an extender, Microsoft could be the definition of the digital home.
And all you have to do is buy TWO full-blown PC's and TWO xbox 360's. What an economical decision that's sure to be popular in homes in all income ranges...Homes that won't even buy ONE xbox 360 because they can buy a Wii for half the price. Boy, Microsoft sure understands the market!
