You probably remember the unannounced
Dell XPS One we brought you the other day, and now we've received more info indicating that this media-centric all-in-one will launch "mid November." Unfortunately there was no price associated with this supposed release window, but the document we saw did reveal several more specs, most notably the existence of "proximity sensors" and relatively-high two megapixel resolution of the webcam. That's all for now; enjoy the new pic.

Personally I like Mac OS it is must easier to use, thought I have been working with windows for 20 years.
The Dell is smart, the Build quality I expect is better than my Imac’s.
Get rid of the speakers and silly keyboard options make a 24” screen and make sure its not like most Imac’s brighter on one side than the other.
The only thing wrong with it them is that its lumbered with windows, this is not to start a OS war but leopard is so easier to use when you don’t want games.
Jack Merritt @ Oct 30th 2007 1:20AM
Owwh ahhh.
Pretty.
Looking forward to hearing more about this one.
Brian @ Oct 25th 2007 6:19PM
Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. I, personally, would neither call this pretty or sexy.
CUBSWILLWIN @ Oct 25th 2007 6:46PM
yea,i hope its better than my dimension b110
CUBSWILLWIN @ Oct 25th 2007 7:21PM
I bet if this came with an optimus maximus keyboard, all the haters would like it. =)
anderesp @ Oct 25th 2007 5:39PM
im not really into Dells.
but this is pretty sexy.
Jonny @ Oct 25th 2007 5:41PM
NNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
I just bought a new Imac and now they come out with this! I am selling my Imac on craigslist soooooo fast. Apple could learn a few design lessons from Dell.
Deuz Augustine @ Oct 25th 2007 6:12PM
Haha, what? Really?
Jonny @ Oct 25th 2007 6:17PM
actually I was joking....I think it looks like ass, and I have a Dell and a Mac, so I'm no apple fanboi. I am rather surprised at all the people who think this is cool. Probably the same who like alienware and other XPS crap.
bob @ Oct 25th 2007 8:38PM
yea this thing looks like it will work a little bit better then the imac
Deuz Augustine @ Oct 25th 2007 10:20PM
I got low-ranked, but considering there's topics like this:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=361992
I wouldn't be surprised if Jonny was serious.
jaimz @ Oct 25th 2007 5:42PM
Dell finally listened to apple.
Matthew Hilario @ Oct 25th 2007 5:45PM
that keyboard is stupid. why dont they have original insert delete home end keys. i hate that new layout.
McGinley @ Oct 25th 2007 6:16PM
Your keyboard is stupid.
JeffDM @ Oct 25th 2007 6:31PM
It looks to me like those keys are there. The number pad is a little different though, it's kind of odd looking. It looks like they jammed a calculator onto that end of the keyboard.
Josh @ Oct 25th 2007 6:53PM
the great thing about keyboards is they are cheap and you can just buy one you like.
personally, i just stick with saitek
Craig @ Oct 25th 2007 5:54PM
i gotta say... fcc pictures rarely do a gadget justice. this looks a lot better. i'll have to reserve final judgment until i see some more angles, though
Paulie Walnuts @ Oct 25th 2007 5:56PM
Apple's iMac was the sleekest All-in-one PC on the market. That's no longer true. This Dell is by far the best looking all-in-one computer I have ever seen.
Matt @ Oct 25th 2007 6:11PM
The thing I don't like about both the iMac and the HP all-in-one is the chin underneath the screen. It ruins that widescreen shape that I love so much. This Dell is a seriously sharp looking computer. If the price and components are right, it could be a big hit.
michael @ Oct 25th 2007 8:14PM
@Matt:
I agree with you about the chin kind of ruiningg the whole look of the widescreen and everything.
But I find the chin is also handy for putting up Post-It notes, and it kind of gives the computer more a unique look, something that's quite different, but not bad.
So chins aren't that bad. And I'm really glad that Dell is putting up something new, without a chin, in the market. Hopefully more computer makers will start investing into the whole all-in-one design. And of course making it better.
Ireland @ Oct 25th 2007 10:03PM
"Apple's iMac was the sleekest All-in-one PC on the market. That's no longer true. This Dell is by far the best looking all-in-one computer I have ever seen."
Where'd you go to design school, the Borg ship? Give me a fuckin' break.. you think this "shape-shifter" beats the iMac's aluminum, sleek, minimal look? Not to mention the stand on this thing, it looks like that thing surfers use on the bottom of their boards to surf 1 foot above the water, the "Glider" or something. Good God you people voting this guy up could not have any taste at all.
You Sir. are crazy.
MC @ Oct 26th 2007 9:24AM
@Ireland
After "the iMac's aluminum, sleek, minimal" look, you forgot to add homely.
Thanks.
willyboy @ Oct 26th 2007 1:30PM
Yes... Big ears are definitely what I a looking for in new girlfriend!
vdogg89 @ Oct 25th 2007 6:02PM
sexxy
Russell @ Oct 25th 2007 6:04PM
Unpossible, something will happen and it will get cancelled or heavily modified before it goes to market, like a concept car.
Dell can't make anything that looks really nice... OK, yea, and some seriously ugly gear, of course, but nothing that you actually consider as "great looking"
Fitzy @ Oct 25th 2007 8:11PM
"me fail english? that's unpossible!"
ugg.tryptophan @ Oct 26th 2007 4:27PM
i agree, like a concept car, before it enters the market it should have a functional bumper and airbags or it just wont be safe
NightBlade @ Oct 25th 2007 6:07PM
Oooooh, aaaaah!
Homeboy @ Oct 25th 2007 6:11PM
Looks very sexy. Finally an all-in.one PC with somewhat usable speakers. This is the perfect PC/TV device for a university student living in a studio. Dell is coming up strong.
Deuz Augustine @ Oct 25th 2007 6:13PM
Honestly, anyone who thinks this looks better than the iMac ...
Well, this is Engadget, I suppose.
Jonathan Ives @ Oct 25th 2007 6:29PM
This thing is absolutely gorgeous. You can almost taste the glossiness of the extruded polycarbonate base. ... Sorry about that, my eyes just rolled back in my head. I'm back now - wow!
bob e @ Oct 25th 2007 6:40PM
I LOVE this Dell One ~
I'll be in line for one next month when they are available :>
And to think I was considering the Gateway...
ark_v2 @ Oct 25th 2007 6:44PM
Woa, that was fast. It's really sleek. Dell is finally doing nice designing. I love my m1330 and this XPS One looks just as cool. Nice, and the performance should be just as good too; it's a dell.
Josh @ Oct 25th 2007 6:52PM
Very sexy looking machine. Dell has been doing a pretty good job with design on their XPS series lately. Here is to hoping they keep up the innovation.
Quix @ Oct 25th 2007 7:00PM
So now do we get to hear all the Apple haters moan and groan about premium pricing and lack of upgradability for Dell's new iMac clone, or are such criticisms reserved for Apple products?
Based on the fervent praise and adulation in the comments so far, I'm assuming the latter.
Chris @ Oct 25th 2007 7:15PM
You are assuming this new dell has a premium price and is difficult to upgrade...
Mikey @ Oct 25th 2007 7:10PM
Its still a Dell...
A pretty looking one, but still a Dell...
Their comps haven't impressed me in the past, I'll wait on this.
AlexP @ Oct 25th 2007 7:12PM
Okay, so... Why is this thing sharing its name with the Gateway One?
I've said a lot of positive things about it, don't get me wrong... But they're basically the same thing sharing the same name!
blaktornado @ Oct 25th 2007 7:16PM
What is this? Freaky all in one computers? The iMac has a chin and this has ears.
bob e @ Oct 25th 2007 7:28PM
i think the iMAC has a sagging pot belly and the Dell has pert breasts
Vincent @ Oct 25th 2007 8:30PM
Dell XPS line is always sexy and powerful!! Nice job!
Apple Fanatic @ Oct 25th 2007 10:14PM
At first I was utterly repulsed by the Gateway One and now I have to deal with looking at this disgusting Dell. No matter Leopard comes out tomorrow and absolutely nothing can make me angry. In fact the idea that Dell, the big bad company that said Apple would fail, is now copying them is hilarious. After all R&D law states when you can't innovate just copy Apple.
http://www.appleaboveall.com/2007/09/here-come-copycats.html if you liked my opinion then read my rant when Gateway announced that god awful fake iMac
JeffDM @ Oct 25th 2007 10:36PM
bob e: "i think the iMAC has a sagging pot belly and the Dell has pert breasts"
Now that's weird, thinking of breasts on a FLAT object. Pedo much? I think computer anthropomorphism is pretty lame, particularly yours.
Harry @ Oct 26th 2007 8:26AM
I really like the screen design and the wireless nature of peripheral devices.
But I am not that satisfied with how the keyboard and the mouse look.
They are kinda too "normal".
Rodeo @ Oct 26th 2007 9:55AM
Now lets see if they can move beyond using the absolute cheapest plastic possible and give us a more upscale look and feel.
ugg.tryptophan @ Oct 26th 2007 4:35PM
unpossibly unsafe
Denis Robert @ Nov 6th 2007 1:14PM
I just hope they allow you to have something OTHER than that vista piece of junk on it... But I'm not holding my breath...
Fried Toast @ Nov 7th 2007 11:47PM
So it's an all-in-one computer. I don't see what's to denigrate or celebrate about. Maybe I'm just jaded because I live in Japan and there are plenty of all-in-one boxes to be had.
Personally, this doesn't look too bad. But I'm not a Dell fanboy. But I don't think it looks terrible, either (I'm not a Mac fanboy, either). I think it'd be nice to have, but not necessary.
Just wondering what the fuss is all about...
And like Denis said, IF one purchased it, hopefully Vista isn't the only option available (YUCK)
tk421 @ Jan 1st 2008 3:24PM
$1399 with integrated graphics? Service and support network is an industry joke! Not to mention that Vista is the only configurable OS on their online store. Buy an iMac and you get better hardware, support, and can run a host of different Os's natively. Where's the choice?
