Samsung intros 19-inch SyncMaster 942BW LCD monitor
Gateway isn't the only company out there cranking out a new display today -- oh no, Samsung's getting in on the action, too. The 19-inch SyncMaster 942BW won't make any jaws drop, but it does feature a 1,440 x 900 resolution, five-millisecond response time, 500:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, a height-adjustable stand and an HDCP-compliant DVI port. If you've managed to not doze off yet, you may be interested in knowing that the display is available now for $249.99, but don't expect it to change your life or anything.

Slow news day?!
Can we get screen technology type added to the list of specs you guys post for all these monitors? Most of these other specs are actually pretty useless without that context. Is this MVA, PVA, IPS, S-IPS, TN or what? Discriminating buyers want to know.
What's the difference between this one and my Syncmaster 906BW?
They're the same price and this one has worse features. Is there anything different about it?
They could be the same panel with a different base. Samsung has different model numbers for otherwise identical monitors that just look slightly different.
I own 940bw and changed my life, sadly it didn't support non-widescreen scale.
Who cares?
ummm....500:1 Contrast??? no way...thats weak
I'll just keep using my SyncMaster 730B, it's not worth buying this or any other monitor yet.
