White PS2 with Singstar hitting store shelves

My position on karaoke is that it is OK if it is done in private and you wash your hands afterwards.
Sad thing is this will sell more than the PS3
...and the Wii, and the XBOX

If you're hinting at the Wii, the White PS2 Slim was announced and designed well before that. This has been available in other regions for over a year now.

Is it just me, or am I the only one not to get excited when they make somthing out of a different coloured plastic, and bundle it with an old game?

meanwhile, 3rd-party developers seeing this are saying:
'why the @!$% are we wasting our time and money on this machine if they're still supporting the ps2?'
you really can't help but feel sorry for ps3 owners.
Especially because the GPU is still closed. But I feel sorrier for 360 and Wii owners. They can't do anything productive /at all/.
And we'll get the GPU eventually. When we do, that thing will blend like a vulcan ninja.
It'd look pretty great next to my 360 and Wii.....but I don't want Singstar at all. *Sigh*

Bundle this with a cool game and no microphones for about 120$ and Sony finally has something that can compete with the Wii :)
You know those wiimotes use bluetooth, right? It may not be long 'till I get a PC setup that can violently crush the Wii.

Needs less Singstar and more Sinistar. I'd buy it then.
Sony's gaming division has to make money somehow. Since the PS3 is bleeding it dead, so lets line up the wal mart shoppers and sell them a seven year old system.
HEY! Cant hate the player can only hate the game. I just dont see how this sales PS3s at all. I just dont see people who are just now buying a PS2 ponying up money for a PS3, but Sony has to make a profit.
It does not sell PS3s, at least not now. This bundle is aimed at the people wanting to buy a Wii or other family styled gaming. It is cheap enough that you can buy it for a six year old and not worry about them tearing it up. It is cute enough to buy for a 12 year old girl. etc....
The hope of course, is that between the price point and the game that comes with it this bundle will many copies this xmas. I do not think this bundle has anything to do with the PS3 but has everything to do with cashing in on the Wii phenomenon. I imagine that by now Sony is making quite a bit of profit on each PS2 sold.
I have to take my hat off to the PS2. After all this time it's still holding it's own against more advanced consoles.

Through my Sony Ericsson phone, I've been able to control my Mac since 2005. Keep up.
