SanDisk starts shipping 8GB microSDHC and M2 cards
SanDisk was trumpeting its 8GB microSDHC cards all the way back in June, but it's taken until now for the company to ship the little buggers -- but we're also getting an 8GB Memory Stick Micro (also known as M2) version as a reward for our patience. The 8GB SDHC card will set you back $139, while the M2 stick is $149, and both should be in stores worldwide now, according to SanDisk.

Finally? The 8gb microsd cards aren't out yet. This is a first in the 2nd (3rd, 4th?) super-dooper small forms.
I am looking forward to slipping in an 8gb (you know, in my phone) M2 as I just dumped the N95 in favor of the K850i.

Good choice dumping the N95 ;P
The K850 has dual support for both, M2 & MicroSD.
So i'd get the microsd because its probably cheaper and will work with many more devices compared to M2.

Sorry. I don't believe anyone really has stock yet. Looks to be true for the 8gb M2 as well... now the 6gb microsd is widely available for about $70.
SanDisk 8GB microSDHC Memory Card - This item will be backordered & will ship once back in stock.

They don't have them in stock yet. I placed an order with them a couple of weeks ago, expecting to receive something this week. They had expected to receive a shipment on the 26th, but it's been delayed, with no definite word on when it will arrive.

Will this fit into a regular SD adapter card or USB adapter?
bachviet @ Oct 29th 2007 7:39PM
With the microSDHC card, of course
Andrew @ Oct 29th 2007 8:00PM
would be awesome if this will be compatible with the n95 :)
Actaeon @ Oct 29th 2007 8:30PM
Should be compatible with the N95.
lance-o-matic @ Oct 30th 2007 1:28AM
Yep, according to slashgear. 8GB microsd card tested, and works with the N95

ahh well there goes my b-day present
N95-3 or N95-8gb decisions decisions
grub @ Oct 29th 2007 10:36PM
Won't most devices not support all 8GB....?
Sameer Surampalli @ Oct 29th 2007 10:58PM
Well, it depends. My phone, for example, lists the max at 2GB. To be fair, there was no such thing as an 8GB card at the time.
It's pretty much a hit or miss.
bachviet @ Oct 30th 2007 12:10AM
Only SDHC-compatibility phones support 4GB+ memory.
guoqi @ Oct 30th 2007 3:49AM
I just bought a 4GB one week becaues I was told that was the biggest.
boing @ Oct 30th 2007 6:21AM
8GB...... that's the same size as the hard drive in my desktop i got in 99!
drsilverworm @ Oct 30th 2007 10:09AM
I love technology.. This is why I was hesitant to get a Nokia n95 8GB, because it has no expandable memory. We already have fingernail-sized 8GB memory cards, and in less than one year we will have 16GB memory cards. I usually try to keep my cellphones for 18 months minimum, so choosing a phone with no expandable memory would be shooting myself in the foot in the long run.
Elad @ Oct 30th 2007 5:13PM
is the 8gb M2 compatible with PSP Slim?
gollum @ Nov 2nd 2007 9:15PM
should have kept your existing card as the k850 supports both m2 and microsd...
