Two-faced Pantech Duo officially launches on AT&T
No surprises here, but the Pantech Duo (split-personality and all) has officially arrived in late October, just as we were led to believe. Ready to rock texters' worlds on AT&T, the Duo does indeed boast Windows Mobile 6, a QWERTY keypad and a numeric 'board for your convenience, UMTS / HSDPA compatibility and a 320 x 240 resolution display. The unit measures in at 4.02- x 1.97- x .83-inches, and if you dig what you're seeing, it can be yours today for $199.99 if you're cool with signing a two-year agreement.

Wow, it's the Helio Ocean's ugly kid sister...
Blah @ Oct 29th 2007 5:54PM
You rip on the Centro for being ugly, but not one word about that truly hideous translucent brown thing?
Dixonij @ Oct 29th 2007 7:33PM
What do you mean by brown? Thats only the lighting the picture was taken. The handset is a grayish color.

QVGA resolution SUCKS. I need VGA or higher.

Okay... phone makers. We do not want a phone with only 3 hours talk time for a single charge. Also... why is it only a 1.3 megapixel camera? Releasing phones now should have a minimum of 3.2 MP, but pushing closer to the 5 MP area.
I like the dual keyboard, but if ya gonna make it in this town, ya gotta think of the future.

seen one in the wild before launch, this phone has quirks, but is a very good option for the size concious crowd. For example, the peeps who pick the pearl because they like the size, but quietly long for the Curve....
Plus its rebates will be valid for the data plan OR the unl text package, making this a solid sidekick replacement for the thumbs of steel crowd.
But when you feel it...it feels like pantech made it. Fan or not, thats not a great endorsement.

its pretty much a modified helio ocean

Ooo... wood veneer.

The Helio Ocean is a pretty phone. However I returned it because the OS was buggy and get this when connected the Ocean defaulted to a Helio backup software that did not exist. You'd load up files, music etc., and they would disappear on the phone. Horrible. I loved my Ocean but it did not work.
This version is actually quite pretty, if it has the same kind of bulk I'll buy one. I liked the heavy feel of the Ocean, this one will be lighter but the dual slider is wonderful. I really miss it.
