Granted, Tritton's latest Bluetooth stereo headset isn't nearly as likely to garner strange looks in public as one of those tried and true
BT earpieces, but we suppose we can live without all the negative attention if necessary. The AX BlueStream features a simple, 2.5-inch long clip-on device that enables users to stream tunes to earbuds of their choice via the 3.5-millimeter audio out, handle phone calls via the built-in microphone and check caller ID information on the integrated OLED display. Additionally, the unit boasts USB connectivity and can be used for PC / Mac-based VoIP calling if that's your bag. For those looking to give that ear a rest (and regain some sense of pride in the process), you can pick up Tritton's alternative right now for $79.99.
So can those earphones be replaced with something decent, or are you stuck with them?
I checked on their website wondering the same thing. It says you can use your own headset, I'd assume headphones will work too.
Err... it's bluetooth, how good of a pair of headphones do you want to waste?
@Joe,
What if I want to replace the bud with a clip-on style phones because the bud tend to fall out of my ears?
have them for over 3 weeks...
work just fine... use them on the office PC, Samsung Black Jack and at home... works quite nicely...
the phones it come with sound pretty decent... but tempted to hook up a pair of noise cancelers to complete the effect...
So they are wireless but they still have wires? And now you have another thing you need to charge and if your battery dies you can't listen to music. I don't get it.
so I just figured out why people double post. Damn it!
If they weren't stereo headphone compliant as well they wouldn't be wired. And for some users not having it connected to your device (a smartphone in my case) is incredibly useful. Not only are the wired connections not there but having to connect the two and deal with those connecting wires is a hassle. Much easier and convenient to have a set of wires running around my neck to my ears, much.
I sort of agree but when do you walk around with a smart phone with both ears plugged in? On a subway or something? I agree that these are useful for some people but probably not that many.

How loud are they (for you and for your caller?) I find long concalls tough with regular BT because it only pipes in one ear. The stereo headsets I get with my phone are usually better, because I get the call in stereo, but the noise for the other end of the call is still a concern.
I use my Jabra bt800 sometimes so I can see caller ID on the screen, I use my itech clip radio sometimes so I can do calls and music. This seems to be the bet of both worlds, if it has AVRCP (media control) then i am in!!!
god it pisses me off everytime i here someone say the "so its wireless but it still has wires" bullshit. Bottom line is that the wires arent connected the phone/pda/computer and the headset stays in place just like any other bluetooth headset. some people dont want to where stupid looking wrap around head phones. probably take up less space in your pocket then wrap arounds if the wrap arounds are even pocketable
Bought this thing on the strength of this review. They were great- for 27 days. Then nothing! dead as a- well, just dead. Won't charge, won't pair. Dead. I've sent Tritton 4 emails trying to get an RA#. Their cust svc. dept also seems to be dead- no response whatsoever. And I bought them thru Buy.com, who politely reminded me that they have a 15 day rtn policy. Just not feelin the love. Wouldn't recommend this BT headset, or the vendor either, for that matter.
