What's better than being the nerdy guy on a nerdy hit TV show? Being a nerd in real life, of course. Masi Oka -- you probably know him as Hiro from NBC's Heroes -- has it all going on, and has now signed up to be
OLPC's "ambassador" to really flesh out his resume. The guy majored in Math and Comp Sci at Brown University, and did odd acting gigs while working at ILM programming special effects, so he's no pretender to this nerd throne. Masi's role as global ambassador pretty much means he'll be doing some TV spots to "promote the importance of empowering children with learning tools and Internet connectivity," but we're sure he can put some of those time-bending powers to good use to erase all that
"$100 dollar laptop" nonsense of yesteryear.
"Masi Oka of Heroes sings up as OLPC ambassador"
Dear engadget "writers,"
Please stop using spell check as a substitute for proofreading. It sort of makes you look dumb, and I don't want you to look dumb.
Thank you.
I knew there was something fishy about that headline...
Signs up. Not Sings up.
Wow.
While he's at it can't he teleport himself to the Asus headquarter, and give the CEO a smack in lower back of the head for playing us with the promised $199 Eee
Also the first line of the article is missing something I believe: "What's better being the nerdy guy on a nerdy hit TV show?".
I think he couldn't figure out if it's supposed to be "then" or "than" and just gave up...
YAKTA!
Or however you pronounce/spell it
YATTA!!!!!!!
...yatta?

NOW YOU KNOW.
Yatta!
@daliminator2000: WTF was that video about. I've never been so confused in my life.
I wonder if Ando will be in the commericials with him
Maybe! He's done commercials for Bud Light, Hyundai, and McDonald's, among others.
Yes! Bring on the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC, I'm an OLPC" commercials!
Look! It's Godzilla!
No, due to international copyright laws, it's not.
Still! We should run like it is Godzilla!
What is that from? I saw that recently, but I can't remember anymore!
It's from the third Austin Powers, Goldmember. ^^
I should add that its Masi Oka who says "No, due to international copyright laws, it's not.". I think.
I can imagine the adverts now...
"OLPC! Yahooooo!"
I'm glad there are so many people willing to pick this post apart. Seriously people, get a life. It's not like this is a journal article.
Anyway, good for "Hiro".
