I wonder if you could take a 1gb flash chip and solder it onto the mainboard of the Wii. After all, that's what we are all bickering about: The internal storage on the Wii, where all the channels and save games are stored.
I mean, assuming that Nintendo didn't do something horrendously stupid and hardcode the size of the flash inside the Wii's Firmware... It should be a simple swap.
