Hello Kitty mini-ATM for your penny counting kids
Alright, so it's not a real hole-in-the-wall, but just in case your eight year-old did need some training in how to operate one, here's the Hello Kitty ATM Bank. Its pink, it's got HK on it, and it looks vaguely like those machines you find in 7-Elevens: fortunately, it won't give your kids cash on credit. They've gotta put some pennies in first. It comes with a Hello Kitty cash card for withdrawals, which should help your child transition to the Hello Kitty Consolidated Bank account you've set up -- yes, they're real. No word on how much this monstrosity is, but you can probably guess which country they're available in.

The real question is... will it Lend?!
No, but the money can be used to Spend.
Producing this thing is kinda hard to Defend.
Yes, in yen.
No more rhymes now, I mean it.

The screen doesn't appear to be touch sensitive. How backwards!
I for one welcome the rise of our bowtie-laden feline overlords.

This is horrible that they are getting 8 yr. olds used to withdrawing cash from an ATM! they need to make it so that you can only deposit money - teach tem how to save, instead of spend!
I did that since I was 7 XD. Lazy parents who only drive but don't want to get off the car.
Well, if it's the same as existing ATM savings machines, it does only allow you to deposit through the ATM interface! Withdrawals are done by opening the thing up, and aren't at all like an ATM.. They're really not all that ATM like are they?
Regardless of how it works, it still teaches them at a very young age the principles of a real ATM. Why make an ATM for a kid? Make a device that teaches them how to save money, instead of withdrawing it so they can spend it. Make a Hello Kitty "piggy" (or kitty) bank. That is part of the reason why bankruptcy and foreclosure rates are so high right now - people don't save money. They spend what they have and live paycheck to paycheck.
Hey, I remember having a similar device when I was young. I live in the Netherlands and the Postbank had the same kind of thing for kids, you could put in your pin-card and open it up by entering a code, to get the moneyz ^_^
my cousin has one of these things, it'll cost ya bout $250HK or around $35--an awesome way to blow some of that cash that you're supposed to be saving. It even sucks in the money for you.
