Curious how this post as well as the one below it coincide with the order and content at Gizmodo
Dude, they're both top-notch gadget sites. Sometimes they get the info at exactly the same times.
Curious how every once in a while someone thinks they've uncovered a clue to some mystery in the form of similar web sites covering similar stories.

when i read & clicked the title i was hoping for psp with "mmm" factor that would make me buy it, but this is just nasty.

Hard to tell how good it'd look in person, but changing the ring around the PSP logo on the back was a horrible choice. Should have kept it silver/metal...
Doesn't look good at all. They shouldn't have made it entirely red.
I agree that the ring should have stayed silver, but damn I like that color. If I didn't already own a black PSP I'd be clamoring to get my hands on this one. I don't know why, but I find that shade of red to be very appealing.

Nothing against the PSP - I think it's great, but that thing is UGLY!!!
maybe if sony took more time to release actual content for the system, instead of just new colours the psp would be doing well, a new colour doesnt make it any more/less fun

Have you ever seen the Crimson Red DS with Brain Age 2? I would like that color on the PSP, and how about making the shiny silver thing silver again? it's hideous when it's red.

Still think Big N needs to release a classic NES colored {NES patterned} DS like they did for the GBA {sadly it was right before they made the screen brighter on the GBA}.

I need a "Deep Blue" version to match my car and my PC.
From the pics shown, it doesnt look like it would be too hard to develop a replacement skin in whatever color you want.
Don't worry guys, a lot of you are raving about how its not so great in red. Sony has already released blue and gold versions! How does that make you feel?
I fail to see how a new color of PSP is gadget news. New PSP yes...must be a slow news day.
