Wine bottle flash drive: too sweet for our tastes
At this point, it's hard to envision an object that hasn't been miniaturized for the purpose of creating yet another novel flash drive, so you won't color us wowed with BeWine Connected's latest. This wine bottle USB drive packs Open Cellar wine cellar management software, a screensaver / wallpaper and wine-influenced ringtones (saywha?) onto 1GB of internal storage, but we'd be tempted to promptly format the thing upon arrival. Nevertheless, those interested in expanding their weird-but-still-useful collection of thumb drives can hand over €35 ($50) and claim one more solid addition.[Via Gizmag]

I imagine they travel well.

That's actually kinda neat, but wine influenced ring tones - wth does that meant?

99 bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon on the wall, 99 bottles of Cabernet
You take one down & pass it around, 98 bottles of... (beep)

Saying something is "unique" often is the polite way of implying the item is crap.
I wouldn't bother being that polite about the flash drives you linked to.
I can see the thought process now: "Hmm I have a ton of useless junk laying around my house. I know! I'll glue it onto a flash drive and try to sell it online. I'll be a millionaire!"

load of crap

Gah! went to the link... I wish I could unsee it!
On topic: the wine flash drive suffers inversely from what actual wine boasts. While real wine will improve with age in both value and flavor, the wine flash drive will unfortunately decrease in value and usefulness. And don't get me started on the flavor. That thing tastes awful!

So will be the first to store Linux wine packages on this?
:D

Is there a hole where you can inject antifreeze in it?

My favorite to date is the miniature teddy bear. You take the head off and shove the neck-USB in. Looks great, especially when the USB slot is horizontal. AFAIK, you still have to make your own. Is there a doorknob one yet? How bout a wind-up key?

the wind-up key flash drive is all fun and games untill someone gets tempted to wind it up while it's plugged into your laptop :P.
