Sharp kicks out trio of new Internet AQUOS desktops
Those completely sold out to the AQUOS brand and in the market for a desktop should certainly give Sharp's latest trio a look. The revamped Internet AQUOS machines don't come bundled with an LCD, but it's probably safe to assume that you've already got that taken care of. Nevertheless, the PC-AX30V sports a very pared down list of specifications, including a 1.6GHz Intel Celeron M 520 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 160GB hard drive, while the PC-AX80V mimics the aforementioned machine save for the built-in digital TV tuner and HDMI input that it receives. The flagship PC-AX120V ups the ante by packin' a 1.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 processor and 250GB HDD, and all three boast a multicard reader, dual-layer DVD writer, HDMI / VGA outputs, audio in / out, four USB 2.0 sockets, a FireWire connector, remote and a keyboard with built-in trackpad. The lineup rolls out at various times within the next two months, but your guess is as good as ours when it comes to pricing. Check out the other two hues after the jump.

That thing looks pretty sexy, if somewhat underspec'd

Ehh....why, exactly?

I like the track pad in the remote. Cool.
Tim @ Nov 7th 2007 12:36PM
are there any decent keyboards out there that have a trackpad like that?
i'm putting together a HTPC but need a wireless keyboard with track pad.

It looks like a PS3 that is actually worth buying...
ethana2 @ Nov 7th 2007 4:18PM
The PS3 would be very worth buying if sony opened up all of its functionality for third party software.
But then, they couldn't pull mutant subsidized business models and stuff with it. That, of course, is a long-standing tradition in the game console world... and phones, of course.

If it's cheap enough, it might make a decent Media Director for LMCE.

It looks nice, but it's pretty weak on processing power.
Better in some ways than a MacMini for dedicated TV use. I'd buy it for $500.

The white one looks better but if this comes out under 600 bucks they have a deal
JOJO @ Nov 7th 2007 12:43PM
The AX120S runs a Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, Vista Home Basic and will sell for 240,000 yen ($2,010) in April. If that's too fancy for you, the PC-AX80S and PC-AX60S will be out in March, with 250GB / 80GB HDDs, Celeron M410 1.46GHz processors, 512MB of RAM and 170,000 yen / 150,000 yen pricetags ($1,423 / $1,256)

Where's the Blu-ray?
b_a_boone @ Nov 7th 2007 2:26PM
Looks like they took some left over VCR's and turned them sideways. Sorry they are nice but 1999-2003 would have been a better time.
Nice Keyboard and remote though!
Michael La Framboise @ Nov 7th 2007 3:17PM
So err... the red one has a red keyboard... the black one has a black keyboard... the white one has a black keyboard too? -- wut? are white keyboards patented by apple or something?
ethana2 @ Nov 7th 2007 5:09PM
I would not be surprised if that was indeed the case.
(I think our patent people are idiots.)
dfn_doe @ Nov 7th 2007 5:28PM
Is this the first consumer grade PC with an hdmi *INPUT* we've seen yet.... I believe so, unless that blurb under the picture is wrong.
Galley @ Nov 7th 2007 6:05PM
Celeron? What is this, 2002?
