CMV9301 PMP doubles as 3MP / 5MP camera
We've seen the camera / PMP mishmash before, and now that we're witnessing yet another iteration, we still aren't really feelin' the concept. Nevertheless, those that are should certainly take a gander at Shenzhen Carav Electronics' CMV9301, which features a three-inch 320 x 240 resolution display, support for a 1.8-inch hard drive, three- or five-megapixel camera, 4x digital zoom, integrated flash, SD expansion slot, AV in / out, line-in port, a built-in speaker and a trifecta of games for good measure. Additionally, this thing claims to play nice with MP3, WMA, PCM, WAV, AVI, MOV, MP4 and ASF file formats, and the rechargeable Li-ion should be good for around ten hours of music / four hours of video playback. As these things always go, there's no word on how much a single one will cost, but feel free to phone 'em up if you can shake off that voice pleading with you to not order "at least 200."[Via PMPToday]

960 x 240? Damn that's wide!
Yep, it's true. Hitachi is the OEM.

That's actually 960 *dots*. Each pixel has 3 (RGB), so the display is in fact only 320x240.

you could have waited until you actually wanted so say something even remotely useful, like i now feel i have
Can't believe people ranked your comment LOW!!!
Testing my password too...
testing my ability to write something interesting
See, this concept makes pretty good sense to me. The idea of being able to carry music and video on the road along with a camera means I can potentially eliminate at least one device.
I don't know if this is exactly the device I'm looking for, but if we could get, say, a 20 GB flash-based PMP/Camera with a sufficiently iPod Touch-like interface I'd be totally there.
Ahhh... I can dream...
Me too...
There is some stuff out there but nothing with a good interface.
Those of you who like the archos brand might not know that the older 405 serries i believe they were called came in normal and camcorder flavor, with an intergrated camera on the back of the player. From what i could tell, its excatly like my AV500 camera only built into the case of the media player.
When will they start putting MP3 players in my toaster!!!
Well...
Actually...
This one is almost there...
