Autumn Xbox 360 update to enable downloadable Xbox games, including Halo 1
It's getting to be about time for an Xbox 360 Dashboard update, and Official Xbox Magazine is reporting that the Fall update, due December 4th, will come packing a huge new feature: downloadable Xbox games. The list includes some biggies: Fable, Burnout 3, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, and, or course, the original Halo. Games are reported to cost 1200 points, (around $15), and the games list is expected to grow over time. Of course, Microsoft hasn't confirmed any of this yet, but December is right around the corner -- looks like we'll find out soon enough.Update: Well, that didn't take long -- according to Microsoft, downloadable "Xbox Originals" will be available starting on December 4th.

Dec. 4th is fall not winter.

Wow, 360 doing some "catching up" to the PS3 for once?"
No the 360 has had some old PS2 games downloadable for some time.
I think it's time Microsoft starting looking into another Hard Drive Sku, something in between the 20gb and the 120gb hard drive. Say 60gb or even 80gb if the price is right. I mean the 20gb just isn't adequate enough anymore (well not like it ever was) but seriously a mid range Hard Drive would be a huge success. Offer a trade up program and it would be even better.
what the hell are you talking about?
i may have misinterpreted what you said but, fill me in please, or point me in the right direction to make my 20 gig read as 120 gig?
sorry that was to:

Just go buy a HDD and replace the old 20 gig with it. Should be a few websites to give you the steps to make it read as 120 gb HDD. And you'll save at least 80 bucks.

There are only two options for HDD, with a 100gb difference. Your choices are 20gb or 120gb. I am saying offer another size as a choice, say 60b or 80gb. Then offer a trade up program so you could get credit towards a newer, higher capacity HDD. I would gladly trade in my 20gb (13gb) HDD so I could download more content to my Xbox 360, but the price point for the 120gb @ $179.00 is just too high.
i hope all games by 2012 will be downloadable its the future
crash is for playstation though!!!
I saw that on the list and was instantly excited for this update. I love Crash Bandicoot, was craving it the other day, but my PS2 is long dead.
This is interesting, but I would rather they flesh out the BackCompat list so I can play all the Xbox games I already purchased on my 360.
It would be awesome if you could put in the game disc (i.e. Halo) recognize you own it and let you d/l it for free or at a reduced cost...and of course it would be awesome if they would integrate achievements

Microsoft needs to bring something NEW!!!! to the table you know ? a revamp of the dashboard something more slick and very cool looking so a guy can bring his lady over and show her something very cool that would want to make her wanting to use it. You see thats why people want the browser and other cool suff to do on the dashboard umm oh yeah (Sophisticated) is the word i'm looking for here.A Sophisticated look for Sophisticated people...you can't just think outside the box you have to crush it. I'm not saying that Microsoft dasboard is'nt nice but thats just it IT'S JUST NICE!!! LOL!!! not very cool or sleak looking. If you want to make a console the center of entertaiment in your livingroom then you have find the means to bring people in the livingroom. When i have guest over for a small get together i want them to say WOW WHAT IS THIS!!!!!. I think thats what sony is trying to do and NO! I'm not a sony fan boy I'm talking about very cool divices for people of age. Think about it people like very cool things like cell phones, TV's, and so on. I just call it like I see it but I love my xbox 360 for what it dose on the gaming end thats why I feel that sony came out hard on the dashboard end of it...it looks like it belongs with everything else you have in your livingroom as far as entertaiment and yes I know ...my spelling sucks lol.
And Microsoft has already announced that these downloads are broken. That's right, it doesn't work too well, but it's still worth $15 to us!
Seriously, why release the games in the first place if the emulation stinks? Maybe they'll do a little better than Sony and release old games that are worth playing (the current PSX lineup on the PSN is very, very tired).
