Straight from the source and about 21 hours early, we've got the 5 megapixel
Nokia N82 press shots. No detailed press release but really, what more do you need to know that you don't know already? Ah hell, we'll run down the rumored specs for you one more time: quad-band GSM, 2100MHz HSDPA for Europe, WiFi, GPS, FM Tuner, Bluetooth, 3.5-mm headphone jack, Carl Zeiss lens with Xenon flash, automatic rotating 2.4-inch QVGA display, and microSD expansion. What we don't know is the price and availability, but we'll get that
tomorrow.

Finally a replacement for the ageing N73 (which is still popular).
silvrdragn @ Nov 13th 2007 2:19PM
Yes the N73 is aging but it looks better... at least the music edition does.
Wolfticket @ Nov 13th 2007 10:25AM
My k770i is much prettier :P
Mmmm... Brown
Can anyone say candy bar n95?
Pdexter @ Nov 13th 2007 10:32AM
=D
sr @ Nov 13th 2007 10:36AM
K770i is quite hideous with those buttons.
Pdexter @ Nov 13th 2007 10:32AM
It looks 10x better here than on those spy pics thought far away from my favorit Nokia design. New smartphone to the masses after N73. Btw people that where in Nokias community meet up in Finland are saying that N8x stands for camera oriented and N9x series will have superb video capabilities on their upcomming phones. N82 seems to be that kind of phone with 5mpx.
Cash @ Nov 13th 2007 2:05PM
Looks like a cross between an SE W810 and K850 to me. If you really like the design, maybe you're buying the wrong brand of phone.
And awesome Nokia, now make it 3G for the US as well and maybe the rest of us will give a damn. And yes, I am a little bitter about all these phones that have great specs but might as well come with a picture of a donkey taking a dump on a map of America in their press releases. With all the major cell companies jokeying for the number 1 spot, when does limiting your expensive high products to one market or another become a *good* idea? Oh, right... when it protects the over-inflated profit margins the practice of selling last year's tech as new brings in. Duh.
1 @ Nov 13th 2007 6:16PM
because the ONLY market is the us one.
you've enlightened me.
Rowdehaj @ Nov 14th 2007 12:56AM
Pffsh, didn't you hear? Everyone in Europe is poor, or starving!
Yeah! The dollar is the strongest currency in the world!
randy @ Nov 13th 2007 10:37AM
Seems thick.
austin @ Nov 13th 2007 10:56AM
seems just as thick as any other 5 megapixel camera out there
holycow @ Nov 13th 2007 10:59AM
sexy beast rawwwwwrrr
z0phi3l @ Nov 13th 2007 11:00AM
Looks like my W810i
With just a batter camera
Jon @ Nov 13th 2007 12:23PM
If you meant the keypad then you are wrong. Some Nokia products dating back to 1999 has that very keypad design.
bachviet @ Nov 13th 2007 11:00AM
If pricing is around N73 when it was released, I might pick one up.
Jason @ Nov 13th 2007 11:11AM
I wonder how fast the camera is? The biggest problems I find with cell phone cameras are bad low light performance and long shutter-lag/image-save. Considering cellphone cameras are often used in low light environments and to capture fleeting candid moments, I find it strange they still peddle Megapixels as the biggest feature.
Harry @ Nov 13th 2007 11:12AM
painfully sharp keys
euclid @ Nov 13th 2007 11:19AM
Looks amazing. Suck a gorgeous looking phone.
Constable Odo @ Nov 13th 2007 6:09PM
He probably does mean "suck" a gorgeous-looking phone. It's all the rage in European hot spots.
euclid @ Nov 13th 2007 11:19AM
*such
Anthony @ Nov 13th 2007 1:42PM
You were right the first time. Oh, N82- I love you so.
Scott @ Nov 13th 2007 11:24AM
So no 3G for the US? Dammit!
melvz @ Nov 13th 2007 11:26AM
probably made of cheap crappy materials... like most nokia phones are...
Al @ Nov 13th 2007 11:52AM
Drop proof plastic or a super fragile glass screen that is shatter-happy?
Hmmmm
xman @ Nov 13th 2007 11:43AM
Can I get at least a suretype keyboard on the BB Pearl? Can't hurt to get USA bands for HSDPA too! And while they're at it throw in UMA access for T-Mobile........and hopefully soon to be AT&T if they're smart. I also hope for mini usb plug, I'm so tired of getting new chargers and cables with phones.
Matt @ Nov 13th 2007 7:09PM
All of the new Nokia devices have either the standard mini usb or the new standardized for mobile devices MICRO USB.
c88lman @ Nov 13th 2007 11:57AM
looks like SonyEricsson.....
HowlinMadMurdoc @ Nov 13th 2007 12:05PM
N82 is sitting on my desk. I prefer the N73 or N95. The N82 is a bit chunkier and feels cheap and plasticky. plus the keys are irritatingly small and cramped
Jason @ Nov 13th 2007 12:37PM
but the N82 is thinner than the N73... Where's the chunk?
HowlinMadMurdoc @ Nov 13th 2007 12:41PM
I'll have to check when our N73 gets sent back. Still remains that this device feels cheap in comparison to the N73 and the keypad sucks quite a bit.
fowler @ Nov 13th 2007 12:43PM
so, no us hsdpa, but it should have EDGE, right? i guess that works okay for me... considering it has wifi.
L @ Nov 13th 2007 3:01PM
Of course it's got EDGE...
Jay @ Nov 13th 2007 1:08PM
Er, Sony Ericsson much?
makotti @ Nov 13th 2007 1:51PM
SE copied this design from nokia a long while ago not the other way around, so... nokia much?
Anthony @ Nov 13th 2007 1:45PM
I have to say I am glad I didn't wait for this one & picked up the K850. I'm very happy w/ the photo quality & speed (tons better than the N95) & the camera is "smart" enough for me- Outlook sync, many Java aps & Audible.
This phone is just too shiny for me. Plus I don't like all the space between the screen & the real keypad. That's what turned me off the N73 too. That & the fact that I thought the camera was too slow & the "cover" kept sliding open in my picket.
Rik @ Nov 13th 2007 1:49PM
That is a MANS phone... packed with featuresw and made of steel!
:-P
Pdexter @ Nov 13th 2007 2:29PM
Pff cant people talk anything else than copying some ones design now days i mean example N91 had that kind of buttons before. How many phones does Nokia, SE or Moto release in year?... Nokia has same shape of buttons as Moto amag! Either you havent seen phones before 2006 or just trolling.
See what you did now you made me rant =/
Just if it had 2.6 screen hopefully they make some short comings and give it a nice price tag.
RIMM Jobs @ Nov 13th 2007 3:59PM
Does it sync with iTunes?
trevorblanco @ Nov 13th 2007 10:15PM
hmm
alphaod @ Nov 15th 2007 3:09PM
I hate those kinds of keys. Hard to press if you have big fingers or you are wearing gloves in the winter.
