everything looks good except those headphones...what the hell!!!
ABondui @ Nov 15th 2007 11:03PM
the headphones i got with my SL were not those, they were the normal meizu ones. I got my player already and for cheaper, mp4nation is having a sale for these, $157 shipped.
quomen @ Nov 16th 2007 12:49AM
I think they're trying to appeal to the many candy corn fans out there.
Wwhat @ Nov 16th 2007 7:28AM
lol, candycorn fans.
RedBull Runner @ Nov 16th 2007 8:46AM
candyCORM
Will @ Nov 15th 2007 10:23PM
Those earbuds look like $hit. At least that's what I think they are,
they might be mini-floatation devices usable by the same thing that would be using that mini slider phone from the previous article.
Yubastard @ Nov 16th 2007 12:42AM
well, it did give me the impression that the thing was waterproof... I wish it was, man, I wish it was...
rob @ Nov 15th 2007 10:28PM
Still waiting on the Meizu touch-screen player...
p3ngwin @ Nov 16th 2007 3:04AM

Give me great battery life same format handling as the zen and a easy way to scroll (IE not a key but a track pad thingy) and ill buy at that price.
Alex Brewer @ Nov 15th 2007 11:09PM
haha, this thing does have a touch pad and it handles stuff like ogg and flac. I had the last generation and liked it until I went back to an iPod. The track pad had issues, but it may have improved in this gen. I'd say buy buy buy.
TheKillerDynamo @ Nov 15th 2007 10:30PM
They're actually AiAiAi Swirl Earphones. Not the cheapest thing but they sure are ugly. I don't think they come with the player though.
DarkLightConnection @ Nov 15th 2007 11:00PM
Heh, i think i know why the name:
"AiAiAi que audifonos tan feos" X_x
(those who speak spanish will understand.. those who don't speak spanish but translated it will NOT understand)
Yubastard @ Nov 16th 2007 12:45AM
^^^^ jajaja que porqueria de chiste! sea como sea, no lo esperaba pero me meo de la risa jejejeje
Wwhat @ Nov 16th 2007 7:31AM
I don't speak spanish perse, but I still got that.
4honor @ Nov 15th 2007 10:33PM
So, these are like the iPod Nanos? Hmm... I want the touch screen one too...
bigassmuffin @ Nov 15th 2007 10:33PM
Wow..another iPod knock-off
It:
-plays music
-allows users to make a playlist
-turns on and off
-plays video
-allows scrolling
JUST LIKE AN iPOD! RIPOFF ANYBODY?
Marek @ Nov 15th 2007 10:37PM
Let me answer that for you:
NO, he's not serious.
Just thought I'd put that out there before anyone asks.
Reader @ Nov 15th 2007 11:01PM
Is he serious?
DarkLightConnection @ Nov 15th 2007 11:51PM
Yes he is
Yubastard @ Nov 16th 2007 12:47AM
^^ and he sucks, yet he's highly ranked...
Rex @ Nov 15th 2007 10:52PM
Hey this looks a little bit like my Creative Zen.. minus the controls.. hehe
Mark @ Nov 16th 2007 1:01PM
You mean the Zen looks like the Meizu? The Meizu M6 has been around for a lot longer than the Zen.
kev @ Nov 15th 2007 10:53PM
Interesting how the prices are in Korean won...this is meant for the S. Korean market? Or are they launching the product there first?
littlejoe @ Nov 15th 2007 10:55PM
I'm an apple fanboy... but I'd hit that. Nicer than the Zune.
rumisy @ Nov 15th 2007 10:57PM
Its been our for awhile now, you can get the 8GB version for $149.50 http://liteURL.com/?12450
Wwhat @ Nov 16th 2007 7:33AM
Very tricky to click 'liteurl' or 'tinyurl' links kids, if they don't come from people you know, and know it actually are the people you know to know.
Michael Bakshi @ Nov 15th 2007 11:10PM
Darn it, and I just received my Meizu M6 SP last night in the mail.
Now they release a revision of it?! DOHH!
seoultrain @ Nov 16th 2007 12:12AM
don't worry about it. It's the basically the same player, just thinner. And it wasn't fat at all to begin with.
Roygbiv @ Nov 15th 2007 11:01PM
@edward
It has a 26 hour battery life (or so says their site), WAV/MP3/WMA/OGG/APE/FLAC support, and that "trackpad thingy" too.
DarkLightConnection @ Nov 15th 2007 11:54PM
It supports OGG?... Now you are tempting me to get it
I dont know why the hell manufacturers leave apart the OGG format... is not like it will cost them a lot to implement it, and it is WAAAAAY better than mp3 and aac
bradwjensen @ Nov 17th 2007 12:39AM
Woo, ogg Support!
Now, if only it had more space..
DarkLightConnection @ Nov 18th 2007 7:16PM
Why more space?
With OGG you can compress your music at 96kbps and it still sounds very good... at 96kbps in 4gb you can fit A LOT of music, certainly more than enough... in 8gb you fit your whole collection
cameraz @ Nov 15th 2007 11:02PM
This thing also has an FM radio and records voice, too. It also supports drag-and-drop of files, all things iPods can't do. Another alternative is the Latte Neon, same size with touch-sensitive controls. http://tgsreviews.wordpress.com/2007/07/24/latte-neon-m3-mp4-player-review/
p3ngwin @ Nov 16th 2007 3:07AM
6-8 hours audio playing time??
screw that. beautiful and well made as it seems, playtime needs to me much more.
thethirdmoose @ Nov 15th 2007 11:25PM
iSee. How iNteresting.
Deuz Augustine @ Nov 15th 2007 11:32PM
Is there any way to strip my iTunes store songs so I can use this thing? I'm serious.
seoultrain @ Nov 16th 2007 12:16AM
just google:
itunes converter
The first link points to some programs, and I'm sure there are a ton of ACC-to-mp3 programs. And I think I remember converting files to mp3 through itunes itself (although it was a while ago, and it may not exist anymore).
producerism @ Nov 15th 2007 11:53PM
ordered mine last weekend, it's actually waiting for me at the post office right now. I'm picking it up first thing in the morning! I'm considering getting the new Shure se210s to go along with it.
Brandon Z @ Nov 16th 2007 5:58PM
Would someone please tell me what's special about these? Why would I want one? Is it just a cheaper alternative to an iPod?
scott @ Nov 16th 2007 2:16AM
My friend got this player 2 months ago. He bought it off Newegg. It's really great if you don't want to spend the money for a Zune or iPod. It also get's good FM reception. I recommend it.
wass @ Nov 16th 2007 3:48AM
I just ordered the 8GB in black on eBay for 5€ + 40€ shipping (total ~66$).
Wwhat @ Nov 16th 2007 7:37AM
Don't boast until you actually discover if you didn't just order the box it comes in by accident ;)
wass @ Nov 16th 2007 8:07AM
Well, at this price I'll still be able to pay my rent and it's Paypal covered. And if I get the real thing it's a bargain, since I'll have to pay at least 140$ more to have the same here in France :)
Wwhat @ Nov 16th 2007 5:12PM
Good to hear you are playing it smart, always nice to see someone who isn't a complete fool.
crow610 @ Nov 16th 2007 5:10AM
I wonder if this one is loaded with bugs like their previous version. Have they finally corrected the "every time I turn on my device after making a small change it goes through the looooong update" bug? Not sure why Meizu is spending so much time punching out new products when they can't even support their old ones.
Wwhat @ Nov 16th 2007 7:36AM
Murderous competition?
k2001 @ Nov 16th 2007 9:27AM
Did you update to their new firmware? I think the new firmware fixed that 2.00.4.3 I think that the firmware number.
crow610 @ Nov 16th 2007 12:51PM
ok...I'll try that out
Mark @ Nov 16th 2007 3:53AM
I have the M6 and love it. Right now, its at a good enough size for me where its the smallest thing in my pocket. I'd love to get the Nano or this to go even smaller, but talk about diminishing gains when I could fit 3-4 Nanos in the space of my wallet.
