Nokia N82 unboxed on video
The Nokia N82's been official for all of 24 hours, so obviously someone's already unboxed it -- and we've got to say, we're going start pronouncing "Symbian" like the dude in this video. Check it after the break -- and make sure you're ready to get down, because that soundtrack is hot.

sim-biaana
Luke @ Nov 17th 2007 10:01AM
Oh dear... How else are you meant to pronounce 'Symbian'? :S :S
I've always pronounced it as 'Sim-bee-un'
John @ Nov 15th 2007 6:06PM
I can't imagine how else you would have pronounced it before.
aaronbareford @ Nov 15th 2007 6:10PM
Looks like it's made out of cheap plastic shiny yuckness.... eww
gjp303 @ Nov 15th 2007 6:10PM
Its like seeing a baby grow up.
Cell phone: Rumor, rumor confirmed, shipping date, unboxing, review.
Baby: Um, no, not going there. Nvm.
ark_v2 @ Nov 15th 2007 7:08PM
You forgot the leaked shot :D
MARSHAK @ Nov 16th 2007 1:28AM
@ ark_v2

May I be the first to say thank you for the link to the website in a language that to me can only be described as either Russian..Turkish..or monkey.
For now, I'm going to say monkey.
Thanks for the video Engadget but how about some specs in your post to go with it?. I see Nokia N9-something and I immediately want to compare it to the Nokia N95.
austin @ Nov 15th 2007 6:16PM
you see nokia N9-something?
this does not apply here.
this is an N82. with an 8
xbit @ Nov 15th 2007 6:17PM
It's basically a cheaper, candy bar N95.
Same as the N95:
- Symbian OS v9.2 and S60 v3.1
- QVGA screen
- 5MP camera with autofocus
- VGA @ 30fps video recording
- GPS with A-GPS
- 3.5mm headphone socket
- HSDPA
Upgrades:
- Auto-rotate sensor
- Xenon flash
Rayburn @ Nov 15th 2007 6:17PM
Greek, actually
But you can be forgiven for thinking Russian
Paris @ Nov 15th 2007 6:43PM
No he shouldn't be forgiven for thinking it is Russian because the site ends with a ".gr" code which clearly makes it Greek.
Andrew @ Nov 15th 2007 11:25PM
If you think *that* sounds like monkey, imagine what your language sounds like to the world. And Greek just happens to be the language of some of the wisest people in history. Not to mention the birthplace of Democracy and Medicine. Small things like that.
Oh, and why compare it with Turkish or Russian if you don't even know what they sound like? They sound *totally* different all three of them! And I don't even speak one of those languages (but plenty of other ones).
pm @ Nov 16th 2007 4:21AM
Oh man,
another lame ass comment about how foreign languages sound.
Dude, surprise: not everybody on the globe speaks english
Bilbo @ Nov 16th 2007 4:55AM
"For now, I'm going to say monkey."
Jeesh...i wonder what country you come from mate...racist, ignorant pig.
And to the original Article....Pretty sure the entire world, apart from 1 country pronounces Symbian exactly as he has said it in this phone.
Angel @ Nov 16th 2007 3:04PM
It's Greek. And the way this guy pronounce "symbian" is the way people in greece speak.
Adrian Williams @ Nov 15th 2007 6:25PM
are those AV cables
Riley @ Nov 15th 2007 6:27PM
Am I still the only one who thinks this phone is really ugly?
Brian @ Nov 15th 2007 6:37PM
No....
Kodekn @ Nov 15th 2007 6:45PM
I actually find the aesthetics kinda hot. I like the shapes and the metal, they come together nicely. I'm not too hot on the numeric buttons, but maybe they are okay. At least they didn't look too high/bulging on the video.
Alan Partridge @ Nov 15th 2007 7:14PM
Why did they copy the thin Sony Ericsson buttons? They're awkward to use after a few key presses at a time
Shahryar @ Nov 15th 2007 9:29PM
Hmm... These buttons seem like they'd be pretty easy to use actually to me. But I guess I'd have to try them out to see.
I just got the N76 a couple weeks ago and am hating the keypad and buttons. I'm coming from owning two of the best phones ever in terms buttons and ease in texting - The Nokia 6170 and the Nokia 8890. Only the keypad has made the N76 a transitional phone in my eyes until I can figure out my next (most probably Nokia) phone.
xxx8sxe @ Nov 15th 2007 6:48PM
And the box makes you look like a sweet/hot asian chick gotta love Nokia.
Constable Odo @ Nov 15th 2007 7:43PM
Nice unboxing video. That handset is chock full of features. Nokia definitely knows how to make decent mobile handsets. It's no wonder they are the world leaders in the handset business.
Motorola really f*cked up when they had the chance to dominate the industry. Why can't they at least copy other phone makers to get something decent.
Jack @ Nov 15th 2007 7:54PM
Thank for the video engadget...
now i should probably stop drooling :)
murray @ Nov 15th 2007 8:01PM
Did he find a box of air in there?
scolen2 @ Nov 15th 2007 8:09PM
Wait, there at still other new cell phones? How and why? So very strange.

A lot of talk from garbage phone owning fvcktard. Your phone in 2007 doesn't even have 3G. Just recently they let you add appointments on the phone without having to add it iTunes and sync it. What a phone for retards.
JT @ Nov 15th 2007 11:11PM
@sr
Appointments recent? You've confused the iphone with the ipod touch. And it's really not that serious, they're just gadgets.
Rich @ Nov 16th 2007 6:39AM
Bland and unoriginal troll. Only managed to hook one person. 2/10.
CyberGypsy @ Nov 15th 2007 8:34PM
One ugly phone!!!!!
John Datserakis @ Nov 16th 2007 12:27AM
lol i always check out tech news through engadget and im interested in the N82, so I clicked the link to see the video. When i first saw the writing i instantly knew what it was (i'm 100% greek and speak it) so i was very excited to be able to listen and understand something that not many other people could, usually it's the other way around.
oh...and...monkey? Monkeys that live around your area must write in one of the most sophisticated languages ever created right?
Robert @ Nov 16th 2007 11:31AM

Daniel Spiegelman @ Nov 17th 2007 2:30PM
