Why hello hello Mr.
M800, thanks for
officially joining the QWERTY party. Hot on the heels of their
X800 launch comes the keyboard totin' M800 sharing most of the same goodies included that 2.8-inch, 480 x 640 (VGA!) touchscreen. If you love WinMo 6 Professional powered by a 500MHz Samsung S3C2442 CPU and riding atop quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, tri-band UMTS/HSDPA data, SiRF Star III GPS, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, and a 2 megapixel camera then this is about as good as it gets. Someday, as no price or ship date is mentioned, although it's listed on Expansys for $750 unlocked. A few more shots after the break.

Does this support SDHC? It's only got a microSD slot, so you'd still be stuck with 8GB for now.
boolean22 @ Nov 16th 2007 6:49AM
I thought microSD (standard) only ran up to 4GB... Never found an 8GB microSD that weren't SDHC.
Tho they might not say it, it's most probably SDHC... it's a matter of firmware in such new devices.
Ricardo @ Nov 16th 2007 5:07AM
Not taking into account the fact that it's HUGE, it seems like a nice phone.
O2 @ Nov 16th 2007 5:42AM
Huge? That's a standard size. Well, unless you are comparing to a flea. Then yea, that thing is huge.
Ricardo @ Nov 16th 2007 5:51AM
No, I'm comparing it to my smartphone, which is 2"x4".
SteveS @ Nov 16th 2007 8:47AM
@Ricardo: How's that QWERTY keyboard and VGA screen working out for you on that 2"x4" smartphone?
Ricardo @ Nov 16th 2007 9:54AM
Even with the keyboard it could be at least an inch smaller.
Joshua Susmarski @ Nov 16th 2007 10:41AM
I don't really think its huge... but the cheap-plastic look really scares me away... and with all of those features, you'd think they'd include a better camera. If it weren't for those flaws, I think this phone would replace my n95.
CUBSWILLWIN @ Nov 16th 2007 6:40PM
It isn't really big acyually. It also reminds me of the HTC Tilt
Rastus @ Nov 16th 2007 5:22AM
I know that it has nothing to do with the product, but they could have done a little better job photoshopping that pic of the phone's front while closed. otherwise, nice phone, looks slimmer, is faster and has more features than the HTC mogul I was looking at, but aww, it's GSM. :(
boolean22 @ Nov 16th 2007 6:47AM
Yeah it looks like there is a bump in the frame of the screen... weird!
Bobby @ Nov 16th 2007 7:00AM
if it has only 64 MB RAM as X800 it is useless.
Malte Lewan @ Nov 29th 2007 3:39PM
Yeah! Tell us about the SDRAM on this one!
Ryan Trevisol @ Nov 16th 2007 7:11AM
If this had android it would be my ultimate phone. Perhaps the only phone that would make me pay the premium to get unlimited 3g access to AT&Tingular.
kuthippie @ Nov 16th 2007 9:26AM
NOW:
1. double the RAM.
2. make it flash+java compatible/proper net browser.
3. make the screen as big as the screen and the plate around it (wich has the brandname on it)
4. give it 800*something pixels (so I can see every website as it was intended)
5. remove that friggin´ camera (or not if it costs nothing and takes up no space) on the front, not the one for video conference.
TADAAA! the ideal phone...Which I'd be willing to pay $1,000+ for...because my laptop would be history! YAY!
but that´s 4 mayor steps...how long would that take...OOOOHH I wonder...
Z @ Nov 16th 2007 2:46PM
I'm with you there. Then add:
6.) Bump up the 2mp camera to a 3mp+ autofocus w/xenon flash.
7.) If possible, make the screen tilt like the Tytn II (what can I say? I like that feature).
8.) WiFi b/g is great, but b/g/n would be even better.
If they (or HTC) make the changes you suggested along with mine, the phone would be perfect, IMO.
Z @ Nov 16th 2007 2:54PM
Forgot one last thing...
9.) 86 the plastic, and make the casing a nice light brushed metal of some sort. Black preferably.
Jared @ Nov 16th 2007 9:40AM
Could the logo be any bigger? Slap that sucker on the back or something. It's really distracting on the front right below the screen.
Jonathon @ Nov 16th 2007 11:58AM
Nothing a sugar cube couldn't fix.
kuthippie @ Nov 16th 2007 9:51AM
why is there a dollar sign underneath my euro key???
I ment euro...so that's like what 1350 dollar or so...
kombizz @ Nov 16th 2007 9:59AM
nice mobile hi-tech. I wonder how much they ask for it.

drakkor @ Nov 16th 2007 11:29AM
and the cheap plastic look of the n95 didnt scare you?
Joshua Susmarski @ Nov 16th 2007 4:03PM
There's a pretty significant difference, you should probably see an n95 (since obviously you never have) and you'll know what I'm talking about. This looks like the plastic you find on those little off-brand Chinese electronics.
Constable Odo @ Nov 16th 2007 3:55PM
Nice handset and a darn good weapon. If someone tries to attack you, just bash 'em over the head with this chunk of plastic.
I wouldn't call it cheap by any stretch of the imagination, unlocked or not.
johnny hates waiting @ Nov 16th 2007 7:52PM
Hey I'm jsut glad they finally got all the important features in there! I just updated my contract so it will be another year for me, but I'm sure the 2nd gen of this phone will be mine.
Doug @ Nov 16th 2007 9:26PM
Looks very similar to the X500+ that I'm using now, with an extra camera and the keyboard. And they've managed to keep it the same size.... amazing. This thing is just about the perfect phone!
VGA on a phone is killer feature. Now that I've had it on mine I don't think I can go back to QVGA ever again. And the built-in GPS is awesome when travelling.
David @ Nov 19th 2007 12:42PM
All these new cell phones are cool but still lacking one thing that the IPHONE has.. A screen big enough to see.. 2.8 Inch is just too small.. You can pack everything plus the kitchens sink but if you cannot see the screen what’s the point.
podphreak @ Nov 21st 2007 12:27AM
I think this phone is for brits.. thats why the keyboard slides the wrong way! =) just my $0.02
cp @ Dec 16th 2007 8:58AM
Brits ?? It's obviously for right handed people and that's why the navigation buttons are on the right once you've turned it. Wrong side ! Lucky you put only 2 cents on that one.
