Zune Citron: 16GB and real
Those curious to see the Zune Citron in something other than a product rendering mode: look above, notice the hot, dark aluminum rear casing, and the 16GB capacity. Yeah, we all know what's next, we just have to let the Zune team enjoy their short period of exclusivity before the rest of us plebes get our own 16GB Zunes.

Why does it say Hello from Seattle? I understand MS's HQ is there, but, was that on the other Zunes? And why do they blank out that other are next to it? I find it amusing as do the others that Citron means Lemon.
That "Hello from Seattle" line is on all Zunes, even my old Zune 30. Its just kind of a nice little bit they added in there.
Sorry, Engadget cut out that last bit of the post...
The other bit next to the "Hello from Seattle" is the serial number, and they don't really want that to be released, I'm assuming.
As far as "citron" meaning lemon in French, thats just a coincidence, as they were just looking for a color. Lemons are yellow, so they went with a fancy version of yellow. Whatever. The no matter what anyone says, the Zune is FAR from a lemon, especially now that its proven itself to be a competent product in such a tough market.
Hey, im considering getting a zune, but i also really like the sansa view players. both have enough storage, although the view would allow for more, and i like the UI of both...i also want to know how limited (or unlimited) the zune marketplace is for songs/artists? i know with the view i can get enough music, but not sure about the zune. who's got advice?
I really love my Zune.
For your ZMP questions, there's a ton of music artists and songs up there. There may be 'a few' who are unavailable at the moment, but the Zune team is probably working on securing those contracts.
Zune Marketplace offers music, podcasts, and a nice pack of music videos. So I would say the Zune is very unlimited. I like the ZMP experience more than any other music store right now. It just does more.
As for the Zune device, I love it. I have a 30GB with a large screen, cleaner design, better UI (in my mind), and there's a ton of ways to customize it. Zune is far more supported than the Sansa players at this moment.
But for sure, both are far better than the iPod's. Got tired of those a year ago.
Now if only Meizu would copy that design instead.
Well, I'm surprised; I got the 30Gb Zune (black, thank you) and I LIKE IT. I do *not* like the software used to put pics, music etc into the thing though; could have been more user-friendly imho.
Is a 16GB Zune hack as simple as swapping out the 4GB or 8GB memory chip on the main board with a 16GB chip of the same form-factor? I bet it is. The guts of the 8GB Zune were posted on RapidRepair.com earlier today. Someone with leet flash RAM knowledge go have a look.
