Dell XPS One reviewed
PC Mag has reviewed the Dell XPS One, the machine which we originally revealed on these here pages. The unit they got their hands on was the top-end $2,399 model -- what, you think Dell would risk lumping 'em with the budget range? -- and the overall impression was very good if you limit yourself to the praise of the PC's numerous features. A built-in HDTV tuner with remote, Blu-ray, and 802.11n round out the 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB of RAM, and 500GB HDD. The reviewer also thought that the design was a strong aspect of the XPS One, matching the iMac for aesthetics and minimalism. From there it's downhill: the Radeon 2400 HD graphics card is crap for gaming, and the unit as a whole isn't price competitive thanks to the 20-inch 1680x1050 screen. Will you wait for the 24-inch model?

@ ezraf1 - yes, that same Imac that also doesn't have a Blu-Ray BURNER or intergrated HDTV or DVR capabilities? Is that that one you are referring to for $750 less? Is this the same one that doesn't come with the Adobe Elements Studio as well? Or the same one that also doesn't come with 3 years of warranty on site...which means that you don't have to take it off your desk to have it fixed and throw it in the back of your car and drive to the mall or wherever to have it fixed? Is that the same one that is $750 dollars less that you are referring to? Or is it the one that is also getting over heated and having condensation building up inside the screen?
@Josh
Several good points, except for the point about iMacs not coming with Adobe Elements Studio. There's a reason for that (iLife).
@Josh: Yeh thats the one I am refering to, the one that is a BETTER computer in EVERY test, (thats what you buy it for isnt it?) Ye its the one with iLife 08' which beats ANY other programs hands down,its the one with a design thats not created by a two year old, Aluminum and glass, not cheesy looking shoddy plastic with big ass ugly speakers. Oh and its the one that is more reliable with much better hardware, that thing is a DELL king of crap, Oh and did i mention OS X? So yup your on the right track how'd you guess I was refering to THAT iMac? Well done!
Dell should spec one these things( or just a headless unit) with hardware as close as possible to Apples hardware and people could run OSx86 on it( with out the driver issues) and have a cheap Mac.
I am a big Dell fan ... but all in ones should be pretty.
Dell could make a killing just by designing a iMac look alike. The iMac isn't magical ... never was ... they are literally just a laptop motherboard mounted in a LCD monitor.
I never understood why Dell didn't do that to compete with Apple a little. I bet they could get a 17" to market at $600 or so easy.
I think Dell's future all-in-one PC's will be much better than this model. A bigger screen is needed (1080p please) and they need to upgrade the graphics card. With that being said, Dell has decided to delve into the world of all-in-one PC's head first with this little beauty and for what its worth, its not a bad rig.
I paid less for my 20" VAIO V620G all-in-1 three years ago. Sure the Dell's spec is improved, but the cost of components such as hard drives, RAM and other components have surely fallen. Dell has to cost competitive if they are going to stay in the all-in-one market.
Everyone is talking about the Dell relative to the iMac's, but the competition is also from the new Sony LS and LT series which aesthetically blows away both the Dell and the iMacs, IMO.
What they all need though is video out, and HD BluRay DVD's.
