While all-in-one PCs come in many flavors from many brands, the one thing most of them have in common is nearly a total lack of customization. Not so with the Ion V2000, which is just a chassis with a built-in display, speakers and media card reader. The rest is up to you, and with all these fancy chips and graphics cards hitting the market of late, there's never been a better time to stick it to
the man and go it alone. Hopefully the next time around Ion can do this up with a little more sexy, and a price tag and release info really wouldn't hurt, but we hate to be pushy.
Watch out iMac!!!!
If I was a pc, I would NOT hit that.
Are we even sure that this product is real? Visit their site and there is no mention. Nor is there any other product that is even remotely similar. It's all IR camera systems.
And if it were in black and being sold for a reasonable price, I'd consider it.
If you don't need it to be TOO small, you can always look at something like these:

It remids me of how I elt when I first saw the Zune :o)
Anyway, I'd much prefer this:

With a 40" tv sitting on top of it.
nani!?! ITS GODZIRRRA!!
Definitely cold-war era.
Wouldn't be so bad if it wasnt in gay silver, black would give the effect of looking smaller since its a huge box.
So paint it. :-)
what do you thing the price will be?
I am thinking 300$
They have the iMac, we have the iMick.
Good idea! Ugly, but good idea!
Reminds me of the old Monorail PC

I remember the old NLX/LPX mobo days when you could buy a crt with an integrated PC chasis, and build a 'mac style' PC. they were kinda nice...
I'm probably in the minority, but I don't think it looks that bad. It certainly looks austere and lacks panache. ButI think the two bigger drawbacks are that you will have to source all low profile cars for whatever type of expansion you want, and the cables will all stick out the SIDE, not the back...
why not just make it full height with a 6" base?
oh wait - I already did that with the OLD desktop cases before - they were strong enough for CRT's to sit on top of them - and lots of room inside for full height x full length cards :]
ride on to some of your local garage sales to pick up ancient computers on the cheap and away you go :]
Looks like a shallow microwave.
