32GB Zen accidentally leaked?
It's inevitable that we'll see a 32GB Zen sooner or later, but we're not quite ready to call this little nugget on Creative's website anything but a typo -- especially since the available capacities listed a couple other places on the page don't make any mention of a 32GB unit. Still, food for thought if you're one of those who's always waiting for the perfect device.

Update: False alarm, looks like the site admins may have pulled one too many late nighters. Maybe Creative and SanDisk should go on a hot date and talk about their faux 32GB ambitions. Thanks, Cody.

Go ZEN!!!
kickenchicken @ Nov 21st 2007 3:24PM
omg yay me!
nizzy1115 @ Nov 21st 2007 3:29PM
if those price trends continue, we will see it priced around 549.99. I think thats out of the price range to make it a worthwhile investment over a hard drive based 30gb player.
Greg R @ Nov 25th 2007 5:41PM
That is singapore dollars though. It should be roughly 350 or so USD.
brahmasoccer09 @ Nov 21st 2007 7:31PM
Engadget didn't tell you that this is on the Creative Singapore site, and therefore there's an exchange rate. $249 in Singapore dollars is $171 USD. The 4GB Zen here in the states is only $119, so i'd doubt it would be even near the $600 mark.
Superevil @ Nov 21st 2007 3:30PM
I guess it would be around 600$? No thanks.

32GB Zen accidentally leaked? Sounds like a bladder control issue to me.

Just like the 32gb sansa view that we never heard about.
and obviously those are NOT American prices they are Singapore prices. 4gb-130 8gb-200 16gb-250 in the U.S.
but with all the flaws of this player(No tv-out, poor sd card integration, etc.) im going for the cowon d2. Of course the insignia pilot is another choice but I can't pass up 52hours audio battery life.
JQuilty @ Nov 21st 2007 3:37PM
nizzy, superevil -- The 16GB Zen is $250 on their site. So this is obviously in Singaporean dollars.
Mrmean @ Nov 21st 2007 4:05PM
LMFAO @ ZEN
PenaltyKillah @ Nov 22nd 2007 12:17AM
I don't think you've ever heard of Creative players, have you? They've been around before the iPod.
Noc @ Nov 21st 2007 4:24PM
why would you want one? they accept SDHC cards and 32gb cards are right around the corner. i personally own a 4gb version but use a 8gb sd card for everyting and they work fine
JohnTitor @ Nov 21st 2007 5:56PM
Why is everyone "leaking" 32GB players
first SanDisk now Zen
its a different kind of Space Race
JohnTitor @ Nov 21st 2007 5:56PM
^Creative* not Zen

Dammit I read it as Zune and got excited. The idea of a 32gb flash Zune is hot.
fourthletter @ Nov 21st 2007 7:20PM
Whats the big deal about 32GB of flash ? call me when it's 120GB
PenaltyKillah @ Nov 22nd 2007 12:17AM
Well, a 16GB flash memory capacity came years after 8GB, and when 32GB comes out (in flash memory... not 30GB hard drives...), it is a big deal. Flash memory works much faster and has a much better performance (refresh, selection of media file, etc.) than hard drives.
fourthletter @ Nov 22nd 2007 3:29PM
Actually you would be pretty hard pressed to prove any speed advantage over a hard drive in a media player, they rarely have the processing power and the only bit you left out of your condescending reply was power consumption, which flash will always win hands down.
My original point was 32GB so what, i can already buy a 160GB iPod, why on earth get excited about 32gb.
ark_v2 @ Nov 21st 2007 9:03PM
Hope ZEN, Zune, and SanDisk make up a serious threat to the iPod these gen. I want them realize they're not the only ones.
1tb4me @ Nov 21st 2007 9:13PM
32GB/small time...I want to see a 1tb Zen...wake me when "they" come to Earth! :D
Jay @ Nov 21st 2007 9:30PM
Wow, this news comes out the same exact day my 16GB Zen came in the mail. Magical, lol.
Eh, doesn't matter *hugs his Zen*. I but wow not even a day have I owned it and I'm already "out of date".
PenaltyKillah @ Nov 22nd 2007 12:17AM
32GB? Now that's worthy of replacing the ZEN Vision:M.
Also... the 32GB capacity could just be dual-'flashes'... two 16GBs.
Dustin @ Nov 22nd 2007 12:41AM
Hey I have a 60GB Zen, and it was only 179.99 almost a year ago!
kickenchicken @ Nov 22nd 2007 1:39AM
um, its also rumored that Creative will release a firmware update fixing the SD integration.
video out sure is a bummer, but not many flash players can do it, (cowon d2 at QVGA... LMAO, id rather have no tv out then qvga, and iPod nano, sure but are you really going to be able to fit much crap on the measly 8GB's?) and mostly likely if they do release it the 16GB will drop down in price or stay and the 32GB go up to 300 or 350
