Dell launches star-studded "Yours Is Here" ad campaign
There's nothing like a little B- and C-list star power to get your holiday offerings the bump they need to bounce out the door, right? Check in with Dell's shameless "Yours Is Here" promotion, wherein you can pick from an array of celebrities (Ice T, Burt Reynolds, Vivica Fox, Brooke Burke, Estelle Harris, or Chuck Liddell), and get their flash-avatar to pitch your product of choice to friends and family. Sounds like a hit, right? Well, only if you think a stiff, unhappy-to-be-here Burt Reynolds can sell your girlfriend on a laptop purchase better than a dozen roses and a cut-out of a Dell circular can. Point your browser in the direction of the read link, and hear all the tongue-in-cheek action for yourself.

engadget! you damn reply is broken! it wouldn't put my reply in the right place.
For a moment I thought Chuck...
NORRISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now if they had Chuck Norris in there that would be a dealbreaker for me!!!
That's just bad.
Period.
they have earned this

Burt Reynolds is an angry man that could convince the Amish to buy laptops!
Turd Furguson... Its a funny name...
(If you know what I am talking about kudos to you, if you don't youtube Celebrity Jeopardy)
XPS comes bundled with a free toupee (for a limited time, while supplies last).
OMG...Brooke Burke and Bunnies...i'll buy anything from her!
those are chubby bunnies! she is pretty old and unflattering now. down hill fast! or should i say, need for speed: downhill.

I can't be the only one who read that as "Your Sis Here", am I?
You weren't. I wonder if they had to buy the domain name from a porn site.
Why do I feel so sleazy (and guilty) for following Ice-T's pusher-like suggestion: "Get the electronics you want......."
I think I'll check myself into rehab for preventative measures.
Holy crap. I couldn't stop watching the painful, painful pitches. I need eye bleach now. Argh!
Sorry, but I think the Mac guy in the oversized Engadget ad is more convincing.
I would buy a Dell and a Mac both, if doing so would make them stop making obnoxious ad campaigns.
I prefered "all I want for christmas is a PSP," at least that was funny.
I'm pretty sure these aren't actually meant to be sent to relatives etc, it's sort of reverse psychology "you want this?" "sure you do." Doesn't work.
Ouch. I don't know what's worse, being told I am a loser because of what operating system I use, or being told BY losers what operating system I should use.
That guy should have married Monika from Friends.
Dell: Fail

Hello I'm a Mac, and I'm a Dell
And even though our hardware is basically the same now, mine is shinier, and /I/ have a TPM that should be frgging illegal, and /you/ don't. Ha!
Cha-chink. BAM!
~your friendly neighborhood penguin :)
Actually, if you go all the way to the pitches, they're pretty funny. Burt sleepwalks through the intros but even his pitch is Burtalicious. The Hard Sell with Chuck Lidell is pretty good too. "Oh hey. I was just pounding the crap outta this bag."
This ad campaign can only work in the US, Not only do I have no idea who any of these people are, its clear they have no idea what they are talking about and I couldn't even understand that second girl her accent is so thick! Sounded like 'haaht espiraaahn destaahp' to me..
At least here (a generic banana country) DELL ads are showing colored notebook over "famous" people.
A black turtle neck and a levi's geans would have gathered more attention.
What a terrible ad
The Yours Is Here campaign is about the worst marketing I have ever seen. Whatever Dell spent on that campaign, it was way too much.
Wow...Engadget peeps are a bunch of haters and clearly clueless. This campaign is pretty genius. Never seen celebs used like this before; it's pretty damned funny, and you can get people to buy you shit. Seems smart and cool to me.
