It's not like you didn't
know this
day was
coming, but Sprint users eagerly awaiting the actual release of Motorola's Q9c / i335 or the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 can quit sitting on their hands. That right folks, as of now, all three of the aforementioned handsets are available on Sprint, and while we're sure you're up to speed on all the specs, here's the down low on prices. After a two-year agreement and mail-in rebate, the i335 will run you $49.99, while the Q9c demands $149.99 and the Pearl 8130 rings up at $199.99. Take your pick -- the trio is on sale now online and in Sprint stores everywhere.

Tarek Ajam @ Nov 25th 2007 4:26PM
OOOH!
LostOneTR @ Nov 24th 2007 6:01AM
prices seem half decent for some pretty good phones.
CBobC @ Nov 24th 2007 6:50AM
I can't believe that Motorola are dumping such appalling phones on the American public. The one on the right (I think the i355) would fail dismally anywhere in the world that has any taste or style. Amazing that the land that produced the iphone can produce such a seventies looking device.
Jeff F @ Nov 24th 2007 7:11AM
whoa settle down Beavis
It's a nextel device, you know, radio frequency 2 way radio? You know they have some limitations to work around, right? You know the core base is not college kids, right?
Abuzar @ Nov 24th 2007 8:01AM
You know I've noticed that Nextel phones are very crappy, feature and looks wise. Why is this?
brad @ Nov 24th 2007 12:34PM
because when you run a construction business, you want phones that work, your employees dont need the web, downloaded app crap and other junk...you need two way radio and cell service only...oh yeah, and it needs to withstand massive amounts of abuse...thats generally why nextel phones looke like crap, becuase there made to stand up to tons of crap
Abuzar @ Nov 24th 2007 9:33PM
Also why do you need 2-way radio? Can't you just call them?
Chris Taylor @ Nov 25th 2007 11:46AM
For end usersn2 way radio makes NO sense just use MtoM BUT for business users like constructions folks it makes PERFECT sense. what would take many dozens of minutes even an HOUR can be done in SECOND with 2 way radio. IE one person sending out a voice instructions to MANY. Say I "chirp" 15 of my employess. Hey guys come into HQ for a meeting. Takes just a few seconds. How long would it take to DIAL UP 15 numbers wait for them to answer and speak the instruction to them. Repeat 15 times :-)

I'm looking at the i335. Isn't all I want it to be (it could have better rugged features), but it is an improvement over my i305. You have to keep in mind that Nextel's core business has been government, industrial and services businesses that require rugged communication-focused devices, not pretty phones with cameras that may break if sneezed on. Oh, there isn't anything from the 70's that remotely looks like the picture. :)
Nick Catalano @ Nov 24th 2007 9:23AM
I paid full retail for a Pearl yesterday at the Sprint store ($500+tax, because I didn't want to sign up for another 2 year plan and I only get $75 to replace this current phone and not all the rebates)
It is a pretty cool phone... but I think I am going to take it back hold out for a 3G iPhone then switch to AT&T
Jkswiss @ Nov 25th 2007 1:21AM
Hrm, wouldn't it have been more fiscally sound to have signed the two year contract and have paid the $175 early termination fee on the mere possibility that you might have to cancel with Sprint in those two years.
Genjinaro @ Nov 24th 2007 9:42AM
I've played with that Moto Q9c and I love it, I don't even like smartphones (lack of touchscreen) more a a PDA-phone guy but this kinda warms me over.
Adam @ Nov 24th 2007 10:45AM
I ordered mine at 12:08AM yesterday when it was released :) I am excited about the Q9C
Rick @ Nov 24th 2007 11:18AM
speaking of 'trio', why get any of those if the treo centro is only $99?
Johnny @ Nov 24th 2007 2:02PM
Does anybody know if any of these phones have integrated wi-fi?
DP @ Nov 26th 2007 12:35PM
Yea it does.
Johnny @ Nov 26th 2007 2:03PM
Really? Which ones do?
JB @ Nov 24th 2007 3:48PM

nojok3 @ Nov 24th 2007 5:01PM
When will Sprint come out with a slider phone that isn't a PDA?
chonkyfire @ Nov 24th 2007 11:33PM
Heh, I called sprint today and complained about how i've been mistreated over the years and threatened to disconnect. I got it for $200.
Marty @ Nov 25th 2007 12:55AM
Wish the whole Nextel crap would just die. No wait. I wish the idiots who beep beep beep each other would die. Slow awful deaths.
Like I want to hear your f*c*ing conversation. Fu*king mouth breathing, beer swilling, cousin screwing, wife beating rednecks.
Thomas L. B. @ Nov 26th 2007 11:28AM
I can tell you've never used the walkie-talkie feature. For Nextel's target market (construction and government), the beep is very, very useful. And as far as calling people names, there's no real need to do it. Have a nice day. :)
Stephen @ Nov 28th 2007 12:18AM
I thought that too... until I started using it in our office. It's surprisingly useful. Nextel has done a pretty horrible job doing marketing though, there is a lot more you can do than just push to talk, you can also... direct connect to: send contacts' information, send images, and on top of that it's fast. I take back all the mean things I've said about nextel users over the years.
Marty @ Nov 28th 2007 12:24AM
Fine. Keep on the job site. Keep it in the office. I don't need Bubba and his beeping damn phone behind me in the grocery. Sorry about the name calling. I'm not the one who decided that Nextel should go after the redneck demographic.
k3nt @ Nov 25th 2007 1:52AM
but will they blend???
Irfan @ Nov 25th 2007 11:19PM
so they left out the q9h's keypad to go with one that has no hard keys for web, calendar contacts or music.... 3 of those are pretty essential. Also still no MMS for sprint. and still poor battery life.. to the point they include the extended battery that sticks out 5mm. So really they fixed none of the problems the original sprint Q had.
