Noon Solar's stylish bag collection charges your gizmos
Trust us, solar-cell covered handbags are far from revolutionary, but Noon Solar's Fall Collection strikes our style bone just right. The Willow, Cortland and Logan (pictured) totes all boast a two-sided design that enables the "weather-proof" solar panel to face outward or inward depending on your mood, and all three provide slightly different internal dimensions to suit your carrying needs. Reportedly, the Power Bank within should fully charge after facing the sun for around six to eight hours, and it can be used to provide juice to a variety of DAPs, cellphones and other handheld devices courtesy of the voltage selector on the pack. As for pricing, you'll be looking at $274, $383 and $412, respectively, and the trio looks to be available in a couple of shades as we speak.

Sweet, I wish electronics would have solar powers so we can save and have clean energy.
Derek @ Nov 26th 2007 6:52PM
Leaving a leather bag in the sun for 6 to 8 hours?
Anthony @ Nov 26th 2007 10:11PM
I agree, plus being vegan it's not my thing- however, I emailed them once I read this article & they promptly responded that they're working on a hemp version but not to expect it till the new year.

David Piatek @ Nov 27th 2007 3:55AM

ini5o @ Nov 26th 2007 7:18PM
Sweet, I have a reason to carry a man-bag now...or not.
Randavance @ Nov 26th 2007 7:56PM
That's awesome, but it probably would have been a better move by the company to make a messenger bag instead, being guys would get a bigger kick out of it then the ladies.
Maybe a utility belt would work too.
turn_self_off @ Nov 27th 2007 3:45AM

> Anthony -
since I eat vegetarians, I like the idea of using their skin for something useful after they are dead. I only wish these came in fossil fuel burning model so I could destroy the environment while I use one. Maybe a huge one with rollers I could put in my MASSIVE SUV that gets 3 miles to the gallon. I sure hope they come with excessive amounts of packaging too so I can fill up the landfills with it. Maybe I'll have mine sent next day air so as to destroy the ozone layer with an extra flight too...
...Really? you have to make a statement about a handbag and how it somehow relates to you being a hemp wearing vegan? I hope you filed all those pointy meat eating teeth off you salad eating pansy.
Dustin Frazier @ Nov 27th 2007 4:39AM
You're a little nuts, huh?
Anthony @ Nov 27th 2007 10:42AM
You have to take a handbag & somehow relate it to the fact that you're a complete jerk?
I made a useful observation about the company's planned product as it related to a prior comment & my brief experience after contacting them.
You took my comment & rant about how it doesn't jive with your viewpoint. Dude. Seriously. Lighten up.
I am Dennis Kucinich. & I approve of this message.

hmmm. kill a cow recharge your cell phone. or maybe they're killing cows to help decrease the methane so it's really helping the planet on two levels.
-solar power+1 less cow farting up the environment.
JC @ Nov 27th 2007 8:47AM
I don't know about you, but the last time I carried my bag with the back facing out and the flap (for easy access) facing in was... never?!
Matthew @ Nov 27th 2007 11:21AM
Sweet. So all I have to do is leave my $400 bag with my pda, phone, DAP out in the sun for 8-10 hours, and when I come back to get it, everything will be there and charged up.
I guess I could drop it off on the sidewalk when I go in to work, and have my devices ready to use when I leave. This will be great.
Matthew @ Nov 27th 2007 11:23AM
Sorry, 6-8 hours. Even better!
thedude @ Nov 28th 2007 4:05PM
wonder which sweatshop slave labor country these are made in ?
