Hollandia's Platinum-Luxe Elite bed includes home theater
We've seen some pretty fantasmical beds in our day, but none of them make you want to stay in it forever quite like this one. Hollandia's Platinum-Luxe Elite, which probably took a few design cues from Mork & Mindy's abode, is far from being your average sleep system, as this thing sports a mattress made from naturally ventilated, hypo-allergenic Vita Talalay latex covered in aloe vera fibers and telescopic head supports that can prop your noggin up for those late-night reading sessions. But that's not even the best part -- you can also look forward to checking out its 32-inch Sony HDTV, BRAVIA 5.1-channel surround sound system, five-disc DVD / CD changer and the obligatory iPod dock whenever counting sheep fails you. Only problem? The $35,000 price tag.[Via CNET]

Is that only me or somebody else also thinks it's too close to watch TV...

For those meager 32"? Hardly. It's pretty much perfect viewing distance for that size. The screen is too low though, it should be higher up.

I'm building something like that right now, but it's better looking. and thanks to the old 19" lcd I had lying around, it's just shy of 35,000$ by about 99%.

put some wheels on it and make it highway safe and i'm sold - otherwise i think i'd rather spend the money on a car - one with a tv, that i could pull over and sleep in, and maybe have cooling cupholders to up the ante a bit - and blackjack and hookers

I fact forget the TV, and the cup holders, and the car....

It would be complete with a beer holder.

That´s what the wife is for.
KIDDING! Just a joke, don´t hate. The joke was inevitable, though.

But how are you going to keep your beer cold? What they really needed to do was add in a fridge, microwave and a computer w/ wireless keyboard mouse. That would be a bed, that you almost never need to leave.

Add a bathroom too, and a bedroom, and it might justify the price tag (depending on the area - L.A. is expensive). And for $200 more you can add an HD-DVD player.

I'd lose sleep figurin' out how to pay for it.

I'm sure the Nightstand makes this set-up ROK!
Oh wait! There's no nightstand. Never mind.
blackfeather @ Nov 30th 2007 1:30PM
Meh. The best way to watch TV in bed is to aim the projector at the ceiling.

This bed is quite an amazing innovation; however, memory foam
mattresses have the heat sensitive visco elastic memory foam material for
individuals suffering from fibromyalgia and other chronic pain
conditions as opposed to the firmer latex foam. Both can do wonders, expecially with that great home theater! $30K+ though???
