Americans are pretty damn ungrateful for what they have. Dial up still exists in Australia WITH download caps (not that you can download anything with that speed).
1) Americans have money and voting power and a little less than free-market capitalism to spend on this 2) Americans think that their country should be the best in the world for anything, recently that's only been true for military power (sorta... Iraq became the next vietnam a couple years ago now) but subconsciously they'd like it to be for internet capabilities as well 3) South Korea is the s**t for a great ISP now... yeah 100/100 is not as much in South Korea as it would be in the US because of all the connections overseas but I mean come on 100/100 for $20/mo?! People want that...
So yeah it may sound a little stupid with a couple too many holes in there but its true.
The phone has 256MB of RAM and a 1GHz processor, which do the job reasonably well, though the Anna interface will likely leave something to be desired for many smartphone users.
