Toshiba's new Tekbright 7-inch photo frame
We can't help getting distracted by fond memories of Lite-Brites with a name like this, but that toy of yore really has nothing on Toshiba Tekbright's 7-inch 720 x 480 photo frame -- as long as you discount love, rainbows and happiness. The Tekbright photo frame includes 64MB of built-in storage, USB 2.0, plenty of memory card slots, and simultaneous MP3 playback. The 129 Euro pricetag ($190 US) isn't exactly free, and the looks aren't anything special, but we're sure this Europe-only frame will find a home or three for the holidays.

I hope those buttons are invisible when not being used. I want a photo frame to look like a photo frame, not a GPS

I am seriously considering one of these. I run a computer lab and I'd like to get one (on school funds) so we can display student work from Kid Pix.

saw one of these at best buy yesterday. Don't think it was branded a Toshiba though. It was pretty slick with the buttons disappearing, only lighting up when touched. The functions weren't too friendly though. Picture looked good

I would be quite intersted what you think about the usability of other digital picture frames?
I think there are many dpfs out there, which have superb functions, but are too complicated to use! Do I really need a remote for my dpf too?

I have yet to see an LCD Photo frame that is big (15 inches+) and has enough resolution to do justice to my pictures. These are just the beginning; better, bigger and cheaper are coming next year. If you have an old laptop with a good LCD screen (such as an Apple Powerbook) you can transform it into an excellent Picture frame that doubles as well as a media player.
