BenQ rolls out X-series LCDs aimed at gamers
Gamers looking for an "Xtreme" display to go along with their array other Xtreme gear now have a couple of new options to consider from BenQ, which just announced its new line of X-series LCDs. On the top of the heap is the 22-inch X2200W, which boasts a 1680 x 1050 resolution, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, an 8 ms "Motion Picture Response Time" (or 2 ms gray-to-gray response), an HDMI port and, perhaps most notably, a 92% color gamut. Moving on down the line, the 20-inch X2000W will give you pretty much all the same specs (minus the 92% color gamut) in a slightly smaller package, while 19-inch X900W and X900 knock things back even further with 1440 x 900 and 1280 x 1024 resolutions, respectively, plus an 800:1 contrast ratio, and DVI and VGA ports, but no HDMI. From the looks of it, however, only the X900W has a firm US release date (this month), with the X2000W and X2200W each making their way to China and "select countries across Asia Pacific and Europe," and the X900 headed to Europe only, also this month.[Via Electronista]

how about making something decent, such as 1920 x 1200?
Umm...BenQ FP241W/WZ/VW.
24", 1080P, HDMI/Component/Composite/DVI/VGA, picture-in-picture.
1920x1200, 1000:1, 6MS GTG, 500 CD/M2.
I just got the VW, it is stunning.
$199 or bust
Being in the market for a good gaming LCD and being new to what makes a "good gaming LCD" I gotta ask are those stats really anything better than like an HP or Samsung? Or is this similar to those "gaming" NIC cards you see...
No 24@1920 is a bust.
178 degree viewing angle, please.
No sale otherwise.
Sorry, one of my criteria for extreme gear is that it must come with a full complement of the letter 'E'.
This comment was brought to you by the letter 'E' and the number '6'.
Yea how is this really a gamer LCD?
It has the same or worse specs than say the Samsung 226BW or 226CW's, the new Dells, and those have all been out for several months...
Unless its really really cheap i don't see myself buying one, then again i doubt i would anyways. Cheap is not one of my primary concerns when it comes to several parts of my PC that affect me every day..my Monitor being one of the major ones...
i agree, i am holding out for the recently announced 30" Dell. its money worth spending for the quality of a m-pva. all this TN crap is just a bunch of marketing to save on manufacturing costs. the quality is the lowest of all panel types. you get what you pay for.
now if these are s-pva like the new lenovo coming out then they would be great!
And u call this "gamers LCD", come on with a response time of 8 ms...
u can do better than that.
BenQ publishes both response time specs; the one most often quoted by manufacturers is the gray-to-gray, in this case, 2ms - more than acceptable.
u can read up better than that.
