As for the blinky backpack, I wouldn't mind one myself. I ride a bike 2/3 of the year and you wouldn't believe how many people miss my headlight, flashing taillight, and reflectors on the bike itself. A backpack that flashes might make them see me.
Of course, I could just get a flashy taillight and rig it to my own backpack.
