Not that next year is too far away or anything, but those of you who have been following
Slacker's WiFi-enabled Portable Player DAP may be disheartened to learn that its release has been delayed until January 31st, 2008. According to an email received by folks who have already pre-ordered, Slacker has "adjusted" the targeted ship date of its streaming device away from December 13th "in order to deliver the best possible player." Customers who don't want to suffer another six weeks to get their slack on are welcome to cancel their orders, although you don't need to do anything at all if you're cool with waiting.
[Thanks, Matt B.]
Yeesh! They haven't released it yet? Slackers...Oh wait...
DAMN SLACKERS!!!
pretty cool
The concept seems pretty cool to me as I'm not on the road long enough for it's music to run out after it's been filled.
It's also WAY easier to log onto Slacker online than it is to use Sirius's web player.
The question is if it can replace Uncle Les Davis on Sirius Pure jazz 72.
He's got a great show.
Slacker is quite good.
It looks as fat as a typical slacker.
I see what you did there.
What is it with these butt-ugly DAPs that look like bricks with screens? Maybe Slacker can take this extra time and a few design lessons from Apple and make something that people would actually hold in their hand.
They could redesign it, but that would really cut into their slacking off time.
design lessons from apple eh? so you guys can bitch and moan "omg they copied apple!"
@Jay: I'm not talking about making an iPod clone or anything that would be considered KIRF I'm saying is maybe they should round off the corners, maybe make it thinner / fold in half or something so it fits in your pocket better. I don't think even the most immature apple fanboys would be crying about that.
missing the holiday season... that's not good. I doubt this startup will stand a chance though.
Slacker needs to adjust how they price these piles of crap. The system does not make sense.
you people and your slack jokes. THe name is just an insult treasure
