Nyko rolls out Charge Base 2 for PS3
Nyko's already delivered one SIXAXIS charging station in the form of the original Charge Base, but those that don't need to charge four controllers simultaneously may do well to consider the company's just-announced Charge Base 2, which'll accommodate a pair of controllers and save you a few bucks. It's still not a perfect solution, however, as you'll have to attach a pair of adapters to the SIXAXIS's mini-USB ports before you drop 'em in, and try not to lose them when you take 'em off. But if you want to give your PS3 a rest and get rid of one less tangle of cables, you should be able to grab one of these next week for $30.

thing looks seriously fugly....looks like a controller for a flux capacitor

It's a much more organized solution than having cables all over the place. I bought the one that charges 4 at a time. It looks like a spine when all 4 controllers are on it. I really like it.

That's one ugly, and cheap looking, p.o.s. Ok, why people want to spend money on buying "a charger" for their PS3 controllers? Guess what, you have a computer and the USB cable that is compatible with the port on your controller. Ok, now: controller and USB cable, meet USB port on my computer. Connect them together, and voila. You can charge your controller while surfing the net. No need for drivers, external chargers, have your PS3 on, or anything else.
Save your money people. You don't need this garbage.

I may be buying my PS3 this coming friday and I started to wonder if these solutions were necessary. I don't understand why u would use something like this when the damn thing comes with a perfect charging solution.

Or, if you want something in a different location from your computer, buy a powered USB hub and use that to charge the controllers.

Actually I really want an Xbox 360 Controller dock, because then I would actually put my controllers there when done, and I would nevver worry they would lose charge, Although i dont want one this ugly, i would like one. Maybe one with Wireless headset charger as well.

That is a new kind of ugly. Also, what's the point of the adapters? If they can make the correct plug (which they can, or the adapter would not work), why just not make it right the first time?

LO I have a better charger idea! Get yourself a cheap 4 port USB Hub!!! Do not bother conncting it to a computer, just plug it into the wall, than use a USB cable to connect your controller to the hub!
I use this method to charge my Razr, LifeDrive, DS, and Zune!!! 1 AC adapter, 4 devices!

that is one of the ugliest things i've ever seen

It looks like a woman with legs spread open...
CubeGuy @ Dec 12th 2007 3:55PM
Substitute robot for woman, and you are correct, sir.

Where do you stick the nuclear launch key?
XenoX101 @ Dec 13th 2007 10:29AM
I'd feel embarrassed owning one of those, artistically it doesn't fit in with anything you could ever have (let alone the PS3). Besides, its hideous
