"Remember Razer's Boomslang?"
No...

I dont really like the feel i get from the razer mice. My obese G5 is perfect for my style of shooting and precision pointing. its all prefrence really, my palm hardly ever touch the mouse.

The problem with Razers (even though I do like them), is that they are designed for both left AND right handed people, so while they are usable by everyone, they really aren't as comfortable as a G5/G9/Sidewinder.

I've wanted to like the Razer, but whenever I have tried one it just doesn't feel right. I'm also a fan of the Logitech style of hand-shaped (for right-handed people at least) mice.

my god... have you ever heard of the death adder? made me throw my G5 away... much more comfortable and made for right handed people!

Wait to pick this one up at w00t in 30 days

Lotsa coverage on mice lately... Yeah, now it's all gimmicks, pick your mouse, pick whatever you like, it's all the same...
Back in late 90's this mouse was the shit. 2000dpi of ball madness. Who'd imagine that we already had all the dpi we needed 10 years ago.

That, and my SpaceOrb 360 as seen here:

I loved it with Forsaken, but never really liked that mouse. I thought the Razer Boomslang was on its way down the path of the SpaceOrb, but it's hanging on a little too long...

I love my Copperhead... blue glow matches the rest of my hardware... but it feels kinda big in my hand. Good point Shadowise.
But this thing? This thing is fugly. Looks like something by Walmart's Durabrand... should be 10 bucks next to the sample size anti-bacterial hand sanitizer in the checkout line.
Plus, a HUNDRED BUCKS?! That's what I paid for my Copperhead AND my Saitek Eclipse. LAME!
Ypoknons @ Dec 13th 2007 6:10AM
Internally it's a Razer Deathadder, by the way, not the old trackball wielding thing.

Why did they rip off the Isle of Man flag? That symbol has been the crest of the ruling family for several hundred years :)
MARSHAK @ Dec 13th 2007 8:44AM
a question for any left handed gamers out there. do you still use wasd in FPS? or do you use the arrow keys...the number pad....whats the deal?
reid_sartin @ Dec 13th 2007 9:28AM
SOMEBODY must like it -- the site says it's sold out.
Randy Domingo @ Dec 13th 2007 4:07PM
The mouse was release 12/4 and was sold out in two days!!
Nubaeus @ Dec 13th 2007 9:43AM
Seems like it comes bundled with Kryptonite. I'd pay $100 so I could hurt Superman. We shouldn't just let a horse do it!
Frankenstein Black @ Dec 13th 2007 10:44AM
Do you Dudes even know what that is? It’s the legendary BOOMSLANG!! It was the first REAL ultra gaming mouse EVER! It was doing SICK DPI (like 2100 DPI) back in the day (easily pwning IR and early lazer mice) with a ball (as in mechanical). Matter of fact the old mechanical Boomslang at 2100 still out DPI the current MS Sidewinder (which is at 2000). SO GIVE PROPS WHERE PROPS IS DUE. Granted this is but a (ir) facsimile of the old legend, but know your history before making comments. I’m just saying...
Fraggle.Rock @ Dec 13th 2007 11:44AM
I didn't know that the Isle of Man had its own mouse, emblazened with the triskelion :-)
Longdown @ Dec 13th 2007 1:45PM
To Frankenstein- optical mice do not use Infra Red (IR) light, they use Red light- that's why you can see it, unlike, say, the signal from your IR tv remote. 'Infra' means below, ie IR is the electromagnetic radiation in the band just below visible red light, just as Ultra Violet light, UV, is that part of the spectrum just above violet visible light.
I'm awaiting the GPS mouse- control your desktop by running around a carpark! make an apt control for Tower Block Tetris, hear me students? lol :-)
