I was really interested in the NEC as well, but look closely at the specs on the page you provided the link for. Under the Technologies tab, last item reads as follows: "Image resolution of 1920 x 1080 with Full HD 1080p capability."
To me this implies this monitor is limited to 1920 resolution for 1080p, just like the Dell. I don't think this one is going to upscale to 2560 x 1600 either.
