Pixel Lab unveils 17-inch RippleNote PLK570 gaming laptop
Earlier this month, we caught wind of a unique new laptop from Korea's own Pixel Lab, and while it's easy to see how the lid design could be a love / hate affair, we've great news for those leaning towards the latter. Apparently, the firm is rolling out another in the RippleNote lineup, this time with a top that exemplifies smoothness. The 17-inch PLK570 rocks some pretty decent hardware too, including a WXGA+ (1,440 x 900) panel, a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, NVIDIA's GeForce 8700M GT, 160GB 7,200RPM SATA drive, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, gigabit Ethernet and WiFi to boot. Furthermore, you'll find niceties such as Bluetooth, a multicard reader, DVI / S-Video outputs, FireWire and audio in / out ports. We're still not convinced it's worth the ?2.3 million ($2,466) asking price, but we'll leave that one up to you.

Needs more ubiquitous hardware stickers. Maybe a few neon lights to truly rice that shit out.

Hah. That's not nearly as bad as some of the laptops I've seen (and currently own) from Asus. Both sides of the palm rests are covered from top-to-bottom in stickers.
And they place the Intel, Nvidia, and Windows stickers in the most stupid, random positions, instead of having a nice row or column.

Must you repost EVERY Clevo rebrand?

err... a 17" 1440x900 display? I mean I can understand that on an external monitor.. but a laptop? I mean hell, I have a 17" 1680x1050 display on my MBP and it feels a lil cramped at times...

1) "gaming laptop"
2) 17"
3) 8700 GT
4) $2500
I dunno, something seems wrong there... for the price, considering the fact that this is a lesser known brand I'd expect some form of the 8800M...

Why does that laptop remind me of portal? Weird...

this is just another clevo, which a lot of different companies have been rebranding as their own for quite some time. nothing new

Yet another Clevo M571RU rebrand.
$2500 for those specs? I guess I should make a business floundering on the stupidity of customers, seems to work well for Aliewnare and Voodoo....

WTF?
I'm gonna repeat what has been said here (and what I've been saying in previous posts). Engadget, stop posting this rebadge crap!!! That being said, I can't even configure a Clevo M570RU with less than WSXGA+ (1680*1050) so I have no idea how these guys are offering it with WSXGA (1440*900).
