Pasen iTouch SE demoed on video: the goggles do nothing
The first Pasen iTouch was almost comically bad, but we'll give the company a little credit for trying again with the iTouch SE, which just popped up in video unboxing form on YouTube. We were a little intrigued by the SE's XviD and DivX support when we first heard about it, but wow -- that interface might finally be usably fast, but it managed to get even uglier, still ridiculously requires double-clicking and now apparently also involves a pen. Third time's the charm, we guess. Check the full vid after the break.

Well, it does have some features apple is STILL missing.. like DivX, or FM Radio, or Voice notes, or Games..
Michael LaFramboise @ Dec 19th 2007 7:28PM
Why oh why in hell does every single jackass has to mention Apple in every damn post in one way or another!
zach @ Dec 19th 2007 7:42PM
haha, you did it too.

@Michael LaFramboise
This article is about an Apple knockoff. How could you expect otherwise?
Constable Odo @ Dec 19th 2007 8:32PM
Apple should have patented the word touch and the letter "i". Too many manufacturers are using them and polluting the term with their wannabe iPod touch trash devices.
Now that is one sorry interface. They oughta be ashamed of having to use a (gasp) stylus. That's almost like "touching" something with a ten foot pole. How pathetic.
Apple will never add those missing features. I think they decided that if they did, they would have 100% market share and it wouldn't be fair to the other companies.
Ellianth @ Dec 19th 2007 8:47PM
Wow patenting words. It's a shame that people like you are the ones that get picked to be the jury in patent cases.
ph @ Dec 19th 2007 7:40PM
holy !@#$ teris!
but does it play doom?
Zak @ Dec 19th 2007 7:40PM
Because they're jackasses, like you said.
Zombie Flanders @ Dec 19th 2007 7:50PM
First, do you have to use the pen? That's utterly unnecessary if this thing is first and foremost a DAP.
Second, did the guy try to hit the 'home' button during the game..and nothing happened?
...because that was awesome.
Mindfield @ Dec 19th 2007 7:52PM
Why do Apple haters have to crap in every thread that mentions it?
AoMoe @ Dec 20th 2007 8:33AM
Not everyone hates Apple, just some refuse to be sheep.
Mindfield @ Dec 19th 2007 9:59PM
Those who like Apple are not necessarily sheep, either. I've had 3 iPods. I like them because -- as much as I hate to perpetuate the slogan -- they "just work." But more importantly, they work well. Very well. I've owned other MP3 players. The iPod has just appealed to my sense of ergonomics, functionality, and style far more than any others.
computer.dude.28 @ Dec 19th 2007 11:16PM
I never said I hated apple, I just said that I think they're missing some important features on their latest DAP
Moultrup @ Dec 20th 2007 4:24AM
Haha! that is a Simpsons quote, "Zee Goggles, Zey do Nussing!" Says Radioactive man's actor while his "protective" goggles dissolve as he is soaked in acid.
wk @ Dec 20th 2007 8:48AM
the question is... will it blend?
Jeff @ Dec 20th 2007 9:38AM
Oh, it'll blend alright. Someone get on that.
dave @ Dec 20th 2007 1:09PM
I love the way that in these knockoff unboxing vids the unboxer manhandles the packaging like hes tearing into a christmas present and also how they seem to fail at doing some things i.e trying to play a game he presses several things and the button and nothing happens. not his fault but its funny how these things have a crappy game noone will ever play and not even a 5 year old would consider a selling point on a thing like this.
The avi playback looked allright, which is appealing to me as i have a lot of avi dvd rips. but the clunkiness and ugliness of everything other than the actual video playback was horrible. 3/10.
Ill get a cowon A3 instead
Zoesch @ Dec 20th 2007 2:13PM
What I love about this thing is that it sets UI standards 20 years back at least.
