Zepto Helios A32, A40 LCD TVs play nice with Media Center
We're still a bit unsure if we're looking at a couple of TVs that actually sport built-in Extenders for Windows Media Center or just a couple of pretenders, but whatever the case, the newest duo from Zepto certainly has our attention. The 32-inch Helios A32 sports a 1,366 x 768 resolution panel, an optional "integrated wireless media center," a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, eight-millisecond response time, a single DVB-T tuner plus twin analog tuners, PIP support, the firm's own ambient lighting system and an internal amplifier for speakers. As for the 40-inch Helios A40, it steps things up with a 1,920 x 1,080 panel, but otherwise remains identical to its aforementioned sibling. Price wise, you'll be looking at 15,995 Danish Kroner ($3,085) for the little guy (which is available now), or 19,995 Danish Kroner ($3,857) for the A40 (shipping next month).

that's a pretty TV.
Kroner? that's an awesome name for monetary unit.
I just wish they were 120hz though, I just started seeing some in stores and they were very nice.

Haha :D .. Danish Kroner is a part of the Scandinavian Monetary Uion, like the Swedish Kroner, Norweigan Kroner etc. Until we get the Euro.
Scandinavian design and a Scandinavian price! (But cheaper than B&O)
And yes the Media Extender feature, is designed for Windows Vista.

Kroner actually means crowns, I like it (prey the day of Euro never comes).

Simply put beautiful! Albeit inspired by fellow countrymen Bang&Olufsen, these guys once again prove why Danish design has a meaning n not just a name. The dark glass that covers the front with the clean black rim breathes simplicity and elegance. Wonder how many months till we see the copycats ripping of this masterpiece..

That's a very attractive looking television in my opinion. Very sleek and sexy design. As sexy as a tv can be anyway.
Also the specs look pretty good too. I wouldn't mind picking one up for the family room if only I had the 20k Kroner to throw down on one.

That TV looks great, I mean, the design is awesome, its the first thing that caught my eye.

Looks very nice on that picture, this is what a TV is supposed to look like. Just a screen, it's not design, it's common sense.
Though, I must say when I looked at the website I am not that impressed anymore. The stand is very ugly.

Apparently zepto picked Ole de Leeneer head up their TV department. If that name dosn't ring any bells, he was the guy behind Alfaview - the tv company who kept taking peoples money on preorders eventhough they knew they were going bankrupt (and after they already went bankrupt)... One has got to ask why????

Why don't they find a way to connect smaller panels seamlessly into a big one, that way when there are dead pixels the whole thing isn't lost, and that way they can drop the price a bit of full HD resolution panels.
Plus the manufacturing should be cheaper when they don't have to handle large flat things with proverbial gloves, smaller machines should be cheaper.
Wwhat @ Dec 23rd 2007 6:17AM
Although, thinking about it, it would be damn hard to seamlessly connect them so that there is no more space between them than that there exists between individual pixels.
Still, we did weirder things in technology.

but can it play doom?
