Saddam's yacht: the perfect holiday gift
Want to get something really special for someone this holiday season? Something that can't be picked up in your local Sharper Image or Hot Topic? How about the late Saddam Hussein's 269-foot mega-yacht: the "Qaddisat Saddam?" For the low entry fee of $34 million, you'll get you a massive gold, silver, and marble adorned ship replete with Arabesque arches, fountains, dining and silverware for 200, a clinic with a surgical suite, a helipad, 14 cabins, plus bunk space for 35 crew members (or servants, if you will), and a secret passageway to an escape boat and sub-pod (in case you too are paralyzed by fear of assassination attempts). The sellers have thoughtfully renamed the craft the "Ocean Breeze," but we're fairly confident that no matter what you call it, the overwhelming vibe of mustachioed dictator will be impossible to obscure. Check the read link for a thorough tour of the entire ship -- and make sure you have your credit card handy.

10:1 Paul Allen buys the yacht so his bigger 3 yachts can have a buddy. Or he buys it for the pleasure of playing dictator
would need a few million more for a refit to my tastes.
There are plenty of souvenirs floating around from the former leader and his clan. My mate sports a soccer shirt plundered from the palace of Saddam's son, and we toasted his piracy with champagne glasses bearing the family crest. Soldiers, media, everybody was looting their way through the country as the invasion proceeded. Been like that since the days of yore.
It was a gift from the Saudis, but never delivered to Iraq....Saddam seemed to think something might happen to it. It sat in a Saudi port for 10 years, and they've just recently decided to sell it. Who knows if ownership was actually transferred to Iraq or Saddam.....sorry to disappoint you conspiracy theorists.
Maybe Hugo Chavez or Micheal Moore or George Soros would feel right at home on it? I'm sure the vibe won't bother them....he hated Bush, right? And that's all that counts.
Do you even know what "conspiracy theory" means? Idiots like you need to improve their discrediting tactics. Throwing "Conspiracy Theory" at the wall and hoping it'll stick doesn't work as well as you think. Better luck next time.
They removed the special skeet gun that would fling Kurds from the bow...
Hilarious but ultimately your going to hell for saying/typing that.
See ya there.
Sorry, Angry Little Jibster, but the obvious implication that corrupt companies (usually assumed to be connected to you-know-who) are behind this definitely has the scent of CT about it.
Anyway, I may be an idiot, but I did take 5 minutes to find out the history of the yacht to answer the question...didn't just lie in wait to bash the first commenter I didn't like. But hey, to each his own.
You have a special day.
I also was not pleased. There was no spot to shoot servants who disobeyed without getting blood everywhere.
Doesn't this property belong to Saddam's next of kin?
I'll be sure to inform Uday and Qusay.
Great! I'll take two please.
"Ladies and gentlemen, We got him!...and his yacht"
Wait... Does it come with a self-destruction button or the like?
Imagine all the orgies and sadistic parties Saddam and his sons ( Uday and Qusay) must of had in this pleasure boat...Not to mention the amount of fine cuban cigars, high quality heroine and exquisite wines the yacht must of had.
Must of had a great time...
maybe some of it is still on there. It would be a great package deal.
Ocean Breeze soap will get you clean.
Now where did I put my Amex Black card.
"I'll be sure to inform Uday and Qusay."
OK, as long as killing Iraqis and taking their property is the name of the game, we oughta be able to buy oil and gasoline dirt cheap. Oh wait, never mind. That IS happening. Thank you, Dick Cheney, Halliburton, Blackwater, and especially YOU, Dubya.
