Asus monitors: your best defense against crossbow attacks?
This one's YouTube caption says it best: "Shooting at the monitor from the arbalest! Striking!" If you replace 'arbalest' with 'fancy European crossbow' you've got a recipe for entertainment. Some Ukrainian crazies got ahold of an Asus LS201 monitor with protective glass and really went all out. The hammer and nails scenes are less than convincing, but the crossbow moment has to be seen to be believed. Think of it as Ukraine's present to you. Video is after the break.

It may be unnecessary and all that... but that's pretty cool.
And even though it shows that the front glass/plexi panel was damaged when he hit it with the hammer, some of you are missing the main selling point... the LCD screen is intact and doesn't show any bleeding at all.
Yeah, the only thing I even fire off at my moniter is.. well.. heh heh

Alas, the demonstration didn't indicate whether it was waterproof too.
foxtrot is just like best buy in kiev.... this is pretty cool
Wow.. holy crap. It bent the tips of the arrowheads. Damn.
Not a real crossbow. Look how easily he pulled it back and loaded it. Real crossbows take a lot of pressure to prep it. The tips of the bolts are clearly lead too, a very soft metal.
Ah okay I knew it looked too good. Still, tougher than the average monitor.
Watch it frame by frame. The arrow didn't even hit it straight on, it was spinning. Durable maybe, but smelling a little like snake oil too.
You smell like snake oil.
meh
WILL IT BLEND?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Dos Vah Donya......Asus?
Hello, with you is the Foxtrot Adviser. You are watching a show that will never see the air - it is designed specifically for connossieurs who love to watch expensive home tech get tortured. The hero of today's program is this LCD monitor, which already survived several simple tests (footage of LCD being scratched with nails, etc.)
The thing is, the cover for this display isn't exactly the usual. Theoretically, it should endure stress outside of the norm - some say it is even bulletproof. We decided to test this. The monitor survived the filming, but because the manufacturer gave it to us to destroy, we decided to kill it - literally. For this we have a crossbow (shows crossbow) and bolts (shows bolts).
As you can see, these are not toys. Now on to testing the monitor.
Well, this has been FoxTrot adviser, and probably one of the most durable monitors in the world. We'll see you.
That's a tough monitor but still a piece of shit.
