Xbox 360 Devil May Cry 4 bundle hitting Japan in January

For all you Devil May Cry fanatics out there (wait -- are there Devil May Cry fanatics out there?) you're about to get a super-special, unicorn explosion from Microsoft. That's right, babies, it's the Devil May Cry special edition Xbox 360. Actually, it's more like a bundle of the boring, old, non-special (though HDMI equipped) Xbox 360, coupled with the brand-spanking-new Devil May Cry 4, where the Devil, crying, and the possibility of crying meet for a fourth -- but probably not final -- time. Right now it's looking like a Japanese-only deal, but you never know when something this gooey will drip over to these shores. Available January 31st for ¥37,800 (or about $330).

The 360 is the console that will singlehandedly destroy Sony and its Playstation. Well maybe not singlehandedly, the Wii is helping out quite a bit....

No, the cell processor is what will destroy the playstation. When it costs too much to develop a game right for a system and it's too difficult to gain profit, developers will flock to systems like the 360 and the wii where they can make more money and better games for a lot less effort. (I'm not saying that games are necessarily better on the other consoles, just easier to make the better games in the better developing environment)

Yeah ....NO! MS did not destroy the PS3. The PS3 destroyed itself. I got a PS3 it was fun playing with it's functions but when you stick a game in it you realize what a pile of crap. So I bought a 360 and happily gaming. WOOT COD4 online!!

And yes I also own a Wii; I dunno why, I never play with it, and yes I have Mario Galaxy which was unbelievably awesome(beat it already) and now I have no use for the Wii.

xbox360 is more practical consumerwise as of functionality and price. whereas the ps3 has ventured into the higher-end of functionality spectrum allowing blu-ray, which definately falls into another tier of consumers due to the price. until blu-ray players become less expensive, their interest groups will not be as big.

take a look at the nintendo wii, cheapest of them all thus allowing the widest interest group..no wonder their making so much profit.

due to popularity, i believe the online gameplay on the xbox360 (xboxlive)is what is truly beating out sony if anything. another community of consumers which is very profitable.

$330? Hmmm I dunno - is this supposed to be the next iteration of the premium console, in other words before it was bundled with forza and marvel but now its bundled only with DMC4? If that's so then that's pretty good considering marvel sucked and forza was OK - and they're even cutting the price cause it's 1 less game.

It's obvious why they're doing this! Have you seen the stories where they put 360 games under labels reading "American Garbage" and the like? 360 adoption in Japan is terrible (according to VGChartz), and the reason is it's not made in Japan. It's the only place the PS3 is successful, it's because they're so loyal. If only we could get americans to not buy any Sony/Nintendo systems, we'd be just as nationalistic as them.

If you're really not that much into games, I woundn't bother. You get a lot of functionality with both systems, but I think they're both too loud for movie watching. It's like both systems *also* play movies, but you'd probably be more happy with a standalone player. I know people will disagree with me, but oh well.

I went through your same dilemma not too long ago. I thought I would condense my entertainment system into a single unit... buy a few games when I felt like it, some movies, save the space. Someday, there will be a great do-it-all unit that is the only thing plugged into your setup, but it won't be a PS3 or an XBox 360. If you want to play games, buy an Xbox 360. If you want to watch movies, that's another can of worms.

The only way you can chose is, since you're gonna use it for movies mainly, look at the movies collection. Some movies are only for Blu Ray and others are only for HD DVD. I chose Blu Ray, so far that's the only reason why I still use my PS3. Superbad, hell yeah.

DMC3 made the "Greatest Hits" for PS2 and came out with the 'special edition', so I assume that it's pretty popular somewhere (I got the special edition for my PS2). Given how based on your skepticism of the existence of DMC fanatics, I'd guess that Japan was where it's big and this is giving people what they want. I myself will be picking up DMC4 for my PS3 when it comes out here in the states :D

How the heck can you say DMC4 and Burnout is better on the PS3? They are not out yet. COD4 I wont dispute, because I have not played either version. I am not big on the online gaming at this point.

Yes better; then you realize how many bugs is in the games.

I don't see how COD4 is better on PS3.
1)Visually I don't see a difference, unless you concentrate really hard.
2)XBOX live has a better online system.
3)PSN keeps signing you out for no reason. And guess what? You need it to play online!
4)PSN is free, that's great but it's also irritating when you can't play half the time.
(I couldn't play between 5pm - 11pm I dunno why it wouldn't connect)

As for the other two games, yeah I can see why it would be better in "my opinion." I played the BO:Paradise Demo and it was crazy on the PS3, especially since I the rumble back on the Dualshock3.
