LG.Philips ain't screwing around this CES, bringing the pain on rival Sharp with five interesting new panels. Check it out:
- 52-inch multi-touch LCD - full 1080p, two touch detection
- 84-inch multi-touch LCD - 2 x 4 array of 42-inch panels, totaling full 1080p resolution, 500cd/m2 brightness
- 47-inch triple-view LCD - full 1080p, 250cd/m2 brightness, three separate images (much like Sharp's triple view), photo after the break
- 47-inch double sided LCD - 70mm thickness, 500cd/m2 brightness, displays images on both sides
- 42-inch transflective LCD - the 1,500cd/m2 brightness is nice, but damn that's large for a transflective display.
Kind of goes without saying, but these aren't TV sets ready for sale or anything -- these are panels produced for OEMs to build into their gear, more than likely industrial and commercial type getups. Still, hot.
me love you long time!
That's Thai.
Who Cares?
that's EVERY Asian hooker. If you have money your number 1. If you are unwilling to spend money you are number 10.
This has nothing to do with surface. It's different implementation of similar technology. If anything, Microsoft's method is bulky and "rigged" and these are slim and sexy.
Why these 'multi touch' always jumped out without detail? I want to know more about it!
I think it's a type of counter top or surface material...
It's totally about the lady! Good thing it's not Taiwan, though... "It's a man baby!"
learn the difference between taiwan and thailand before trying to make witty jokes you retard
Although I'd rather go with Surface, since it register more than two points. In fact, as it turns out, there's endless possibilities of input.
Then again, there's no 1080p Surface out there.
...
Wait, THERE's NO SURFACE ANYWHERE!
Can it play doom?
Can she play games with me?
damn that girl is fiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeee!
Glad to know LG Philips isn't the only one trying to show off other things :P
HOLD UP!!! Let me get this straight...you think I would want to take my arms off my girls shoulder, stop touching her with my other hand, get up and start touching this motherfucking screen...fucking piece of shit...OK not really since its a big screen.
Advice to manufacturer: Concentrate on making the LCD screen thinner with better richer color contrast and anything that will make watching tv movies etc looks lifelike!!!
Peace
But I think there were more boob comments on the MP3 player that looks like bobbies!
ive seen multi touch displays this big as info/map terminals in Shibuya in tokyo :3
I didn't even notice that display in the picture...
thats it, moving to Korea.
...there goes another one.
Real competition among ISP's would be nice, politicians...
...as if you read engadget... T-T
I wonder if she's export controlled... the Korean chicks I meet in the States just don't look like her... DOH!
Road trip!
ps: nice displays too...
I think Korean needs to be wiser in not using these models like Japan and other countries are doing, I wonder if that's result of inferiority complex. If they really think they are in advantage using these models then they seriously need to think about the consequences.
@Andir 3.0:
Maybe, but can they support WiFi detection and pull photos out of cameras and music off of Zunes?
I'm not saying Surface is better, but how about waiting until they come out in REAL retail establishments before making a decision if they're really these bulky tables or the next big thing.
Now for the price.
Life IS very Good... :P *drool*
I'd be impressed if Microsoft allowed them to pull photos off ANY camera and ANY PDA, but I don't see that happening. Besides, why couldn't these be setup with a PC with Wifi to do just that? This is just a screen.
What is with the creepy mystery flesh going up her shirt???
LG might not be screwing around, but I'd sure as hell screw around with her.
@Andir ... you're right this is just a screen, while the Microsoft Surface is a COMPUTER that has infrared cameras inside that do ALOT more with multi touch then these LG screens are capable of, I.E. interacting with WIRELESS devices, there will be no multi touch computer ever that can wireless interact with NON WIRELESS DEVICES, so dont try to play the "MS wont let every device play on their system" trick because no business can.
Eventually everyone will have a wireless device of some sort and it will be compatible with the surface. I also doubt that these 52 and 84 inch screens will cost less then the surface or will even be commercially available .. remember the 100 inch LCD's from last years CES? I dont see that in any stores sadly.
yeah seriously.
