Crapgadget: mammoth iPod touch knockoff

Read - The most massive iPod touch knockoff you ever did see. Ok, so it's probably not that big, and just suffered from a crappy image editor. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in]
Read - Yeah, it's a mango talking clock, so what?
Read - "State of the art" Versus Scoreboard / boombox. Righteous garbage.
Read - TakeTV goes the way of SDHC in the TV Card Player
Read - USB egg cluster (huh?)

SDHC . . . almost cutting edge
Composite Video . . . cutting edge for the early 80's.
DarkLightConnection @ Jan 1st 2008 12:18AM
I use composite video, I don't have a flat panel TV...
This is not bad, idk why it is on crapgadget.. I'd buy it if I needed

Just a horrible thing.
Kax02 @ Dec 31st 2007 11:57PM
Wow, I clicked out of interest to see the larger picture of that thing and I ended up in their product listing page. I clicked onward to find that they even attempted to make an N-Gage knock-off.
I mean... why?

I checked out the touch knockoff link as well...There is a LOT of KIRF fodder on that site. Many of those MP3/MP4 players look awfully familiar...
DarkLightConnection @ Jan 1st 2008 12:25AM
The "versus scoreboard" isn't bad
Obviously you guys don't have a basketball in your backyard... I do, and I can see this scoreboard being useful for someone who actually uses it to play complete games.. (I don't, I only play alone every now and then)
You seriously need crappier gadgets, I see two gadgets on that list that I'd buy if I needed to

Actually, after review these products. They are not that bad. Quite interesting products. Yep, some companies with some really INNOVATIVE products.
silverblackvoid @ Jan 1st 2008 12:29AM
actually the mango talking clock is not that bad.
silverblackvoid @ Jan 1st 2008 12:36AM
these may be crappy in the eyes of Engadget, but some people(a lot of people) are still buying them. it may be for their family, relatives, colleagues or anybody. not everyone on this planet can afford the iPod touch.
Will Smith @ Jan 1st 2008 1:44AM
DAYUM!! I gots to get me one of these for the crib!
matt @ Jan 1st 2008 5:36AM
The tv recorder is actually quite useful, I have a similar one. Other companies make good cheaper stuff than the famous fruit, don't get caught up in the reality distortion field....
Chrisboff @ Jan 1st 2008 7:56AM
Be careful clicking on the link to the iPod touch knockoff. Siteadvisor gives it a red rating.
bolgposts_taf @ Jan 1st 2008 9:47AM
I wish it WERE that big; you youngin's will learn all about reading glasses soon enough...
jbcaro @ Jan 1st 2008 11:15AM
If it were not for 'crapgadgets', some of would not have any gadgets at all.
Kevin @ Jan 1st 2008 12:00PM
Slow news day? Engadget has already crapped on these devices individually before...
Bravo @ Jan 1st 2008 12:37PM

Ipaq3115 @ Jan 1st 2008 1:47PM
That TakeTV is awesome!!!
Why is it on crapgadget???
I might even buy one...
Meltz @ Jan 1st 2008 2:39PM
That iPod seriously looks about 2 feet wide!
Josh @ Jan 1st 2008 3:47PM
ipod touch 2: now available at your local big and tall stores.
but seriously... does it include a wall mount?
indiecognition @ Jan 2nd 2008 1:31AM
If that iPod Touch comes with a hand miniaturizer, I'm in!!!
George @ Jan 2nd 2008 10:05AM
Ok, folks...I checked out the ipod touch knockoff product page. That screen is only 2.8 inches. Someone just did a very poor job of putting the hand graphic over the product. Looks like a mistake to me. So, if the screen-which appears to take up most of the device's front, then the thing is smaller than a Zune or iPod classic, or certainly no bigger than those devices. The picturs on the sire is just bad.
Take TV looks great. I'd get one. Being able to throw dl.tv, Tekzilla or Morgan Webb's podcast on and sd card and watching on my big set or wherever I wish seems pretty decent to me. I don't know why it is a 'crapgadget.'
