Jay-Z + Apple = record label?

You're Apple, and you want to sell more content -- which, in turn, sells more iPods / iPhones / iWhatevers. But you don't want to stay beheld to those fickle, waffling, DRM-obsessed labels. You want to cut out the middle man -- not unlike Starbucks and its homegrown behemoth, Hear Music. And, if the Boy Genius is right, your next step is to hire away none other than the Young Hov, Jiggaman, J-Hova -- Jay-Z -- from his gig as prez of Def Jam records to run your new game. Oh sure, Apple getting deep into the content business is possible. But damned if this one doesn't feel a little funny, even if the rumor does turn out to be true.

I heard this like a month ago on the radio. He and Beyonce have said that they are tired of record label bullshit and were going to Apple to create a new label. A label that would "change the game" so to speak. Sounds cool.

Does anyone remember the fact that Jay-Z refused to release his album on iTunes just two months ago? Has he not all of a sudden changed up his way of thinking?

The fact that this last album was a "concept" album, he did not want the songs sold as singles. This is a project to be enjoyed in its entirety. Why you mad?

I think Apple is stealing leadership strategies from MSFT. Which isn't very good; just take a look at MSFT's stock price to see what happens to companies that think they can do everything.

This is great. It just further shows how ignorant these people are. Amerikkka's forefathers and the fruit they bare have profited greatly from illegal activities as well as well documented oppression and downright thievery and unapologetic arrogance. Fast forward to a Black man who turned his meager beginnings (A great Amerikkkan example)into a fortune and now he's all these negative things. He can't just be successful because. I hope he becomes a billionaire and continuously propells into your lives each and everyday. The hate will maybe subside then. I love it!!!!!!!!!
