Samsung's P2 gets certified for Vongo
It's not like we haven't seen PMPs certified for Vongo before, but considering just how sexy the P2 really is, we think the aforementioned video provider did itself a favor by teaming up with Samsung. As of today, P2 owners can surf on over to Vongo's website and begin using the subscription-based service for $9.99 per month, and for P2 owners to-be, you can look forward to a "trial membership" with an unspecified length. Huzzah!

I love Samsung, they're my second favorite to Cowon when it comes to PMPs, but I can't say I'm a fan of the DRM filled proprietary video software.

Has anyone gotten this thing working well in Linux? MTP sucks, and I'd miss FLAC, but god damn the thing is sexy.

There is a way to change it to UMS, all you have to do is change a couple lines in the config file. I've seen a couple sites explain the process.

Samsung PLEASE give us FLAC support. I so want to buy this, but no FLAC = no buy

That P2 would probably be one of the best PMPs available if it had an 80GB HDD. It has the largest small-type video screen of all of the current PMP in it's size/price range. That screen is a widescreen and the movies that can be viewed on it in full screen format are larger than anything else shy of the crappy Archos units and the other large screen units.

I don't like the way that blue HAL eye is looking at me.

I love my sammy P2, but Im not sure I would want to pay ten bucks a month to get videos on it. maybe just use a DVD ripper...

my p2 has stopped accepting BT and i get a BT address error :( but this player is Super sweet. the biggest gripe i have it that there is no purpouse for veiwing movies on it as there is such a space constraint, i gotta have my tunes.

Main thing that has held me back from buying this is not being able to just transfer either Divx or Xvid videos directly to it. From what I've read, you need to re-encode the videos into a format only the P2 likes... yikes!

You need to convert it to wav or mpeg4.
Still, I have been having trouble with it. I converted some avi's to wmv and they wouldn't play on the device. Other than that, I love my P2.

I got my P2 just before Xmas at John Lewis, Edinburgh, UK. What a beauty. Only problem, if any, is that, on video mode, you can't adjust the screen size. Manual says you can.. very vaguely indeed. Screen size menu is not available on this machine, which plays only 16:9 ratio. If you watch 4:3 clips, picture will appear squashed and other formats over stretched. This might be just the UK/European spec. Anybody's got the same problem?

I have the screen size menu on my P2. Once the movie is playing, touch the screen and the menu graphic appears, select it and then screen size, I have the following choices Actual, Standard, Full, and Zoom. Do you not have these or they don't operate the way you want them to?

Hi guys, I have a problem with the P2. When I switch it on it gives me a message "NO SPACE FOR DB. PLEASE DELETE MORE THAN 60MB"
Anyone know how to resolve this problem. Your advice will be appreciated.
