HP's Pearl -- er, "Silver" smartphone
Palm's not the only company bringing some new Windows Mobile kit to Vodafone this year -- Boy Genius Report's scoopage of Voda's '08 lineup includes a new HP, too. The "Silver" (a codename, we assume) should put the kinda sad iPAQ 510 out of business and appears to take a page straight outta the Pearl's book, right down to the WiFi, GPS, and SureType keyboard (which is surprisingly actually identified as "SureType," a RIM trademark). Unlike the Pearl, though, this sucker rocks Windows Mobile 6 Standard and HSDPA -- a whopping 7.2Mbps of it. Look for it in July for about £250 ($494).

Sluuuuuurp that right up! And this American Sprint customer will probably never see one of these right? :-( Oooh... I want it!
Gee.... if that thing is as slim as it looks I'll certainly give it a _very_ close look.
M600i got me addicted to SureType-Style Keyboards and there's no way i'll give that up for Thumb-wrecking-T9-Typing again.
With that specs and that price, i'd buy it.
HP makes garbage electronics. Only their printers are good.
Actually, they also make one of the best (fastest, most reliable, flexible, most features) Network Attached Servers.
While I like HPs iPaq PDAs and their laptops, their phones are abysmal.
Especially battery capacity is a problem for then and now this, 7mbit HSDPA and GPS on a 1010mAh bettery?
Yeah right, this thing is going to last 12hours on standby or 5 minutes of GPS plus 3 texts.
Still waiting for the ipaq 910 here in the States...
Motorola Q just had a baby with a blackberry. I'll pass.
Considering that HP OEMs through HTC, and HTC licensed SureType from RIM for the TMo shadow I'd bet its likely an intentional use of the trademark. Incidentally, as HP has finally given up making their own phones the quality this time around is probably better (HTC does have a pretty good track record recently).
I'd hit that.
