Palm Wanda is the Treo 500v successor

Wow, look at what Palm and Vodafone are bringing us now via the good people at Boy Genius Report, the Palm Wanda. Terrible name (please tell us it's just a codename!) aside, the specs are looking pretty decent with triband GSM and HSDPA covered as well as GPS for your navigational needs. The sheet also lists a "BURY" hardwire kit for car use and Windows Mobile 6.1 as the OS of choice. Launch is currently set for the September 2008 timeframe with the price set at roughly $350 -- though, of course that's a contract price.

BOO...looks the same as the Centro....with the same unusably small keyboard

Exactly my thoughts
DarkAardvark @ Jan 6th 2008 12:02AM
but it's got that cool name

Have you actually tried the keyboard? I am guessing you haven't. I've owned a Centro for a little while and after about 1 week of adjustment from the Treo keyboard, I can type just as fast and accurately (e.g. very). The form factor is perfect and I think they made the keyboard _just_ big enough to not suck.
elithemicrowave @ Jan 5th 2008 11:34PM
It actually looks OK....
But if Palm actually calls it "Wanda" it'll be the end of them for sure.
"Hey, that's a cool looking phone man! What is it?"
"Oh, it's the new Palm Wanda!"
*gets kicked in balls*

Make the hurting stop!
Khaytsus @ Jan 6th 2008 10:03AM
You morons, Wanda is a codename. It'll probably still be the Centro model.
Jona @ Jan 7th 2008 3:45AM
If its as thin as it looks, thinks looks like a perfect phone for the girlfriend.
Evan @ Jan 8th 2008 10:43PM
Palm's new motto: "Here's our new stuff! same exact thing as the old stuff... but prettier!"
Samphex @ Jan 9th 2008 9:12PM
that looks like the centro except the screen is frickin smaller
